THE FUTURE OF MEDICINE 1

Abstract

The world of medicine and healthcare is an ongoing development. As new technologies evolve,

more success is met. In spite of the future being very promising, many focus on what the future

holds and disregard how the past has influenced today. Former advancements, such as organ

transplants and vaccines, have greatly affected us to this day. More mind-blowing concepts and

medical breakthroughs are being made as years pass. For example, recreational cyborgs are

organisms that contain both biological and technological components. They will go beyond

repairing a physical disadvantage. Developments are showing the potential of transforming the

lives of those who are disabled. Furthermore, significant technology breakthroughs have

improved health care facilities. In such an active and busy environment, convenient forms of

machinery are beneficial. Communication will be more efficient, new cures to diseases will alter

how patients are cared for, and the environment of the workplace will be less distracting. Many

factors are imperative to continue driving the medical field forward, including nurses, who have

become one of the most crucial components in the healthcare facility. Consequently, the demand

for them continues to rise as the baby boomer generation is aging. The trend of millennials

seeking a career in nursing has provided hope to lower the nursing shortage. Having a limited

amount of nurses makes it difficult to maintain the health of every patient in the facility. Along

with that, low staffing levels are dissatisfying for both the nurses and patients. Supplying a

sufficient number of staff is essential to decrease the amount of error made within a hospital and

to ensure contentment of the clinicians. Higher staffing-to-patient ratios contributes to the

wellness of the institution overall as well. With nurses, improvements can be carried out, superb

health services can be provided, and the medical field can continue moving forward.
