Hello Tangway!

This letter contains my response to the recent cancellation of a traditional and symbolic
event of UP Tangway, the UP Tangway Patinikan. I will make it short and “informal” so as not
to bore you with reading too much.

I have been a member of UP Tangway for five years; three and a half as a regular
member and the rest as an alumnus, and for those years, I have been supporting it with all I can
give. I have been to five Patinikans already, in which I have already played different roles;
runner boy, quiz show proctor, preliminary judge and bailiff for debate, logistics head, overseer
as the president of the org, and a formal adjudicator. Sobrang dami kong naging ganap para sa
event na ‘to taun-taon and I have personally organized in some of them so I know kung gaano
kahirap ang event to organize, but it was doable, every year.

Call me names all you want, “sungit”, “di naman alam ang nangyayari sa Tangway”,
“epal alumnus”, but I’ll say what I want to say, you guys disappointed me. As someone who
taught you a thing or two about organizing the event, as someone who is one of the members
before you who have exhausted all what we’ve learned so that you can do the event by
yourselves, as a past teacher and a co-resident member, I too, feel like a failure. Most of you
were even under me for at least one year. I used to think that I had a little bit of a success coming
out of Tangway. It’s secured. My babies will take control. Now with this, I doubt it.

Do I resent you guys? Definitely. Would I revoke my membership now? (Tang ina
parang upsilon, #EndFRV #LonsiLeaks) No. Even if I am disappointed with the happening, I’ll
still support the organization that I have loved for years. Actually, I would give more support
right now more than ever, as it looks like you needed more. So let me for the love of Tangway,
help. Kulang ang members? Plus one niyo na ako! Kulang sa pera? Samahan ko kayo mag-IGP
(wala pa akong cash mga bebes napupunta lahat sa readings ko). Kulang sa aral? Tara sabay tayo
sa starbucks! (Malay mo libre ko pag good mood). Kulang sa time?

Whatever the problem was in the last event, let us, the alumni, help as soon as you need
one. I don’t speak for everyone kung tutulong sila, but I do speak for myself. I will help.

P.S. As much as I want to end there, I would really appreciate if one of you guys would expound
what really went wrong and not some BS letter for judges. Come on, I think I deserve better than
an apology letter made only for judges. Para tayong walang pinagsamahan.
Lovable and Huggable,
