LESSON PLAN #1: Tag

Students will understand the basic rules of freeze tag


Students will understand the importance of being aware of your surroundings

Skill:

Students will demonstrate locomotor skills through running and turning


Students will demonstrate locomotor skills through holding and mirroring physical poses

How do we play freeze tag?

Materials:

None

Preparation:

Get students to sit in the middle of the gym when getting to the gym in order to listen to
the rules of the game.

Lesson Procedure:
(Use numbered or bulleted steps. Indicate lesson introduction, development and
conclusion to clarify the flow of the lesson. Write it with enough detail that a substitute
teacher could teach the lesson.)

1. Gather students in the center circle of the gym to listen to the rules of the game
2. Explain rules of the gym- expectation of teacher- rules of the gym
3. Explain the rules of the game to the students using either Mrs. Rozee or students
to demonstrate
4. Ask students to stand up and practice some poses
5. Assign one student to be it- see how this works for a few minutes and determine if
second student is needed
6. Tell students listen to the countdown for the start of the game
7. Stop game periodically to switch students who are it

Assessment:

How will you know if students met your lesson objectives? What assessment tool or
strategy are you using? What are you looking for in this formative assessment?

Students will be abiding to rule of game without cheating


Students will have fun and maintain a positive attitude
Students will demonstrate respect and care for well-being of other students
