The Lesson of Friends 

 
When in the world, there are many lessons 
to learn. Some come from a friend, 
others from a laugh, 
some require a great change, 
others are simply a smile, 
sometimes the lesson comes from a cup of Starbucks. 
 
That cup of Starbucks 
could introduce a lesson 
that the greatest and easiest thing to do is smile. 
Even amongst the best of friend, 
a smile can change 
a grumpy face into a laugh. 
 
When one of you laughs, 
Over that cup of Starbucks, 
it can inspire a great change 
combined with a beautiful lesson. 
Make sure you always join a friend 
for a lasting smile. 
 
A causal, bright smile 
and a joyous laugh 
with a great friend 
over a cup of Starbucks. 
Through all the lessons 
that we have learned and change, 
 
don’t let the world change 
that beautiful smile. 
Many are the lessons 
I wished to learn, to laugh 
and to exchange Starbucks 
for a trustworthy friend. 
 
Someone who I could call “friend” 
And ​not​ have to change 
like they change their order at Starbucks. 
They ask you to change and then smile 
and give a polite laugh 
from what I have learned, that is the lesson. 
 
With a trustworthy friend and a beautiful smile 
They don’t ask you to change with a boisterous laugh 
Even over a cup of Starbucks which is a grand way to learn a lesson.
