ALAIKUM WARAHMATULLAHI WABARAKATUH.

Good morning, everyone. We are gathered here today to

celebrate and validate the graduation ceremony of batch 2022.
I am Sarah Mae B. Mijan, I am honored to have the opportunity
to speak today. First of all, on behalf of the entire batch of
2022, I would like to welcome you to the graduation ceremony
of batch 2022 at Ladja Idanan Elementary School.

All of us were ready to leave elementary, getting excited and

ready as we are about to embark and face another school year,
after taking our last class in a blended learning environment
we’d never imagine ourselves in: THIS PANDEMIC.

Today, in our upside-down world, let us heed a simple advice

from an upside-down worlds author, Dr. Seuss.

“When something bad happen, you have three choices.

You can either let it define you, let it destroy you, or you can let
it strengthen you.”

I always thought our class memories would be defines inside a

normal classroom environment with some corny 20/20 eyesight
metaphor. Instead covid 19 came in a clutch, who would’ve
expected that a virus would make our last year in elementary
different. Imagine your family with you is in a classroom.

Sadly, we were not able to experience some activities that we

normally do during a school year.

There were no after school prank with friends. There were no

going to sari-sari store to buy our favorite foods. And there
were no more kulitan with our teachers during and after class.
And there were no more last goodbye hugs to each and every
one of us in our usual end of the year party.

However great, these losses do not define us many more than

the one loss defines a nearly perfect game or season. We’ve
pushed through missing all school interactions and even a
proper last day of school.

Instead, this graduation recognizes the entire admirable body of

achievement of those receiving their diplomas today. We
celebrate what got us here: seatwork, homework, projects,
recitations and exams. This pandemic did not erase our
childhood achievements.

Even though we may have faced challenges as the class of

2022, even though we’ve gone through all of these different
obstacles, at the end of the day, it’s only important to focus on
the positive aspects of each obstacle, but also to make the
most of every instance and opportunity.
Ladja Idanan Elementary School has always been there to
support and to mold us into total persons. Certainly, to all my
teachers, thank you for being a part of my journey. Especially to
our class adviser, teacher Arsin, from offline modular distance
learning to a limited in-person teaching you continue to educate
us during these challenging times. Your dedication, hard work
and passion-thank you Sir!

To the people who have been the biggest inspiration in my life,

inah and mmah, thank you po! For all you have done to help
me become who am I. you were there since the beginning,
helping me to stand up and supporting me every step of the
way. I love you both! And above all, the Almighty Allah for the
gift of life, the wisdom and the expertise you have bestowed
upon us. We pray earnestly that you continue to guide us as we
follow the direction towards the attainment of or dreams.

Again, good morning and congratulations to us graduate of our

great school. The Ladja Idanan Elementary School, Thank
you!!!

ALAIKUM WARAHMATULLAHI WABARAKATUH.

I grew up thinking that the biggest challenge in my life is

poverty. This is due to the fact that I became early aware of the
poor conditions our family is facing ever since. At a young age,
I’ve witnessed how every day is a battle for my father who
works as a fish vendor just to provide our needs. I’ve seen how
my mother spends the whole night thinking on how she can
budget 150 pesos in one day. I’ve experience how difficult it is
to make up excuses every time the money lenders look for our
parents, and I’ve heard how my younger siblings whine and
complain every time they demand on their needs. Considering
these unfavorable circumstances that leave us no choice but to
endure for every single day in our lives, rather than being
discouraged, this instead has been my motivation to work hard
and to give my best in everything I do. My family’s situation is
what motivated me to excel academically no matter the
obstacles are, and it’s the main reason why I strived harder in
order to achieve my dream which is to give them a better life.
From there. I have come up to a realization, that what is
regarded before as the biggest challenge in life turned out to be
one of my greatest blessings. If no because all the hardships,
difficulties, obstacles and struggles in my life brought by
poverty, I will not be able to develop my strength, spirit and
character. As without it, I may not be able to accomplish my
achievements I received. And now that I have the opportunity,
please allow me to acknowledge and thank the people who
help me become the person I am today. To my parents
____________ and ____________, you have deserved as the
wind beneath my wings, I am most grateful for your
unconditional love and support which gives me the courage to
accomplish my dreams for our family. I sincerely thank you for
all the hard work and sacrifices you’ve done just to assure our
wellbeing. Both of you, together with ___________,
___________ and __________, have been my inspiration from
the start. I love you so much from the bottom of my heart. To all
of our teachers, thank you very much for believing in me and
for helping me maximize my full potential. All of us students are
grateful to the entire school faculty for the wisdom and
significant influence you’ve imparted to our lives, as well as for
the constant guidance and encouragements you’ve given us.
To my classmates since the kindergarten until now, please
remember that you all own a special place in my heart, thank
you very much my Ladja Idananians fam, for the priceless
memories and for making the 7 years of my elementary school
life truly irreplaceable. To all of my friends who are always there
to cheer me up whenever I fell down, I am forever grateful for
the moments we’ve spent together – all the share jokes,
wishes, dreams, successes, laughers, tears, and above all, for
our friendship. We may be going separate ways after
elementary school, but I know that our hearths will never been
apart.

To my alma mater, Ladja Idanan Elementary School, which

highly contributed to our growth as individuals, thank you very
much. You made each and everyone of this batch a whole
being, all equipped with wisdom, knowledge, and skills that we
can use to inspire people, help our country and change the
world for the better. I will be, and always be very proud to a
Ladja Idananian.

And of course, last but definitely the best, I am wholeheartedly

thanking our Almighty ALLAH, I am offering this glory to Him
because everything I have is because of His overflowing grace.
He gave me blessings much more than I deserve and I wouldn’t
be where I am today without His guidance and love.

Fellow graduates, this ceremony mark an amazing milestone to

each and every one of us. Our school year might have ended in
a way that is far from what we are used to, but today is still
worthy of celebrating the fruits of all our hard works during the
past 7 years. With the situation we are facing right now, it may
be hard to imagine, what our lives would look likes as time
progresses but one thing is certain: the world will continue to
revolve and the future will surely arrive. We can use this global
pandemic as an excuse why we can’t move in our life, but we
can also use it as a motivation to find our purpose in the
society. The world remains ours to shape and we have the
power to create a better future, we are the hope of the
generations to come so let our voices be heard for our insights
and opinions are also as important as the older generations
when utilized in the best way.

As we step out of elementary school and move on to the next

phase of our lives, there will be harder challenges to overcome.
But bear in mind that our resiliency and character has been
proven invincible, and as long as we have a strong will, we are
an unstoppable force. I want you to not let your serves be
defined as the batch of COVID-19, because I strongly believe
that we, the class of 2022, are the batch of the young, driven,
ambitious and prepared leaders of tomorrow.

Thank you everyone and congratulation Elementary School

Batch 2022!
