Welcoming Address

Myles Austin DV. Gernale

A pleasant day to everyone. I am Myles Gernale of Grade 12 Rizal and I am honored to welcome everyone
to the Aguinaldo International School Commencement Exercises, for the Academic Year of 2018 - 2019. I
would like to thank all the parents, families, friends and guests, as well as the school’s faculty and staff
and our beloved principal, president and guest speaker: Ms. Lileth L. Cuaresma, Dr. Paulo E. Campos and
Dr. Khalid Magdy; we are delighted to have you all here on this special day, to celebrate the end journey
of the students as they embark to the next stage. All I can say is "This is it", we have finally reached
graduation, the most significant event for any student in any school who will soon embark on a whole
new world with more memories and journeys to come. Highschool has been quite a ride for us students:
it is a cluster of memorable moments that shaped us who we are here in AIS and even in the outside
world. We are quite excited to receive our awards as a testament to our success and our joys of reaching
our goals as high school students. We truly owe our parents and guardians and our school, especially the
teachers, as they have become an important part of our lives due to their endless support and guidance
to build us into responsible young adults and help us become successful in our journey while in AIS.
Without them, we would have not made it here and experience countless difficulties, which is something
we should wholeheartedly thank them for. Now, let us all savor and celebrate this exciting moment. Once
again, welcome and good afternoon. Thank you.
Farewell Address

Kazuhiro Ortega

A great day to everyone. Is it really that great today? I guess, we can say that today is really a
bittersweet moment for everyone especially those who are to leave and transfer to their respective
schools. We spent the past years together in the same school, same classroom, same hallway, everything
happened inside the building that we made our second home. As sung by BLACKPINK, “Every sweet ‘Hi’,
there’s a bitter ‘Bye’.” I’m pretty sure you all remember the first day we all saw each other. The day we
said our first “Hello, what is your name?” and now, we are about to say “Goodbye, dude. I’ll see you soon”.
We all started somewhere, built families and bonded with each other. Now, we are here, about to say our
final goodbyes to our teachers and classmates. However, it isn’t always about goodbyes. This may sound
cliché, but I know this isn’t the end. We are just beginning to move a step further to reach our dreams and
to be successful human beings that our parents can be proud of. The theme for this year’s graduation and
moving up ceremony is ‘Unity in Diversity: Quality in Education. AIS has nurtured students with different
races and cultures. We are different from each other, yet we are united, and we strive as one school, one
AIS. Through this, AIS has given us quality education that we can definitely use when we move on to
another part of our lives. The people inside AIS did not only give multiple academic lessons but also life
lessons that we can use while growing up. We have been given the privilege to study here and for that I
want to say THANK YOU. Throughout my journey here in AIS, I noticed a lot of things. I noticed that even
though we have a lot of differences, we always had been united since day one. Seeing now how united
each grade level is makes it a lot easier to give quality education to its students. One example is my own
class where we grew up, matured, and decided that this isn’t a competition that one has to rise and one
has to go down. We helped each other, we pulled each other up and now, everything finally paid off. I
won’t make this any longer but please allow me to say thank you to the following people: THANK YOU. To
all the AIS Admins and staff for keeping up with its students no matter how tight the schedule is, THANK
YOU. To all the teachers that never gave up on each student, who shared their knowledge to us without
asking for anything in return. Moreover, thank you for always seeking for truth and justice because they
know what is right and what isn’t. THANK YOU. To all my schoolmates whom I shared memories with, I
hope we won’t forget about us. THANK YOU. To my classmates aka my siblings from another mother aka
my family, thank you for the 4 years I spent with you guys. Every memory we made will always be in my
heart, if not, its stored in my cellular phone. We went through a lot. A lot of ups and downs but hey, we
made it here. We are finally graduating, moving up rather, and I only hope our success for our future. You
guys deserve every little good thing found under the sun. You guys are irreplaceable. THANK YOU. To our
adviser for always having our backs. Thank you for always being patient with us and for not giving up on
us. Thank you for actually giving time understand us and to know us better each day. We wouldn’t ask for
another adviser because we will always choose you. THANK YOU. To my mom for always supporting me.
Everything I do, it’s always for you. I wouldn’t be here, if it wasn’t for you. Love you, Mom. Lastly, THANK
YOU. To God for always giving us wisdom and for guiding throughout our journey here in AIS. My journey
here in AIS will end but the memories I had here will always stay in my heart. From theatrical plays to
being a dance troupe member, I am grateful. To end this, I would like to sing a few lines from Yeng
Constantino’s song. Thank you AIS. Thank you, everyone. Keep on moving forward and let’s live our lives
without regrets.
