T
he OptiX BWS 1600S provides a huge
transmission capacity, an ultra long-haul
transmission capability, an access of multiple
services and a highly reliable submarine cable station
solution, providing operators with a stable platform for
their business.
The OptiX BWS 1600S adopts the SuperDRZ (10
Gbit/s) , DPSK (10 Gbit/s), eDQPSK (40 Gbit/s), AFEC
(10 Gbit/s), EFEC (40 Gbit/s), and ROPA/UHBA/RAMAN
technologies to provide the ultra-long haul transmission
capability and high reliability. It supports up to 10,000
km transmission with repeaters and 450 km transmission
without repeaters. The OptiX BWS 1600S is also a 40
Gbit/s transmission system. The 40 Gbit/s signals can
be transmitted over 3,000 km with repeaters. The OptiX
BWS 1600S supports 25GHz channel space, increasing
the overall system capacity greatly compared with others.

The OptiX BWS 1600S supports multiple protection mechanisms, which address both
equipment and network protection issues. The protection mechanisms are as follows:

•• Redundant power module protection
•• 1:N (N≤8) and 1+N (N≤48) protection for transponders
•• ZONE4 earthquake tolerance
