COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Educational Online Program (EOP) gives students the opportunity to earn original credit
for courses or recover credit for classes they previously failed through a blended learning format.
Through the EOP, students may continue their education by accessing coursework in an online and
flexible classroom environment: 80% online and 20% face-to-face with a school-based teacher.
These blended learning/ online courses can be more rigorous than traditional high school classes
because they follow an accelerated schedule, have weekly assignment deadlines, and require regular
participation.
With the assistance of the Professional School Counselor, students’ transcripts are evaluated
to determine the core content credit (i.e. English, Social Studies, Mathematics, or Science) or elective
credit that needs to be earned by the student. Then, eligible students complete the student
registration packet that requires the signatures of the student and her/his parent/guardian.

ATTENDANCE POLICY
It is the responsibility of the student to arrive on time to lab and to attend the labs to which s/he is
assigned. Students who are absent on three (3) or more occasions may be withdrawn from the EOP
without reimbursement. If withdrawn from the program, the student will not earn credit for the
attempted course. The procedures for absences and tardies and their respective consequences are
detailed in PGCPS Administrative Procedures. Refer to it for additional information.

GRADING AND REPORTING

Grade Categories and Weights
The grade categories and weights depend on the content course. In general, assessments account
for the highest percentage of the overall grade. Activities follow assessments in category weights.
Finally, projects account for the smallest percentage of the overall grade.

Grade Scale
A: 90% - 100% C: 70% - 79% E: 0% - 59%
B: 80% - 89% D: 60% - 69%

Grade Reporting
Students must finish the assigned online course by the last day of the Fall/Spring Semester. The
EOP recommends that students work on their course at least 5%-8% each week to fulfill the
completion requirement. Students must complete all assigned work with a mastery score of 60% or
higher in order to earn credit.

PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICES (PEDS)

PEDs may be used in the classroom for instructional purposes, provided that PED use does not
violate the Code of Student Conduct. Staff may request at any time that students turn off and put
away PEDs. Students assume full responsibility for their PEDs. Students are responsible for using
PGCPS-issued PEDs in an appropriate manner.

SIGN AND RETURN

We have read the course description and expectations for the Educational Online Program (EOP).
We understand them and will follow the procedures and policies as outlined. We especially
understand that a personal computer with Internet access is required for the course; the enrolled
student will have access. We also understand that excessive absences will make the enrolled
student ineligible to earn credit, and consequently s/he will be withdrawn from the EOP without a
refund.
