HIGHLIGHTS OF 2018 ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT

Knowledge Management and Information Service

The Knowledge Management and Information Service (KMIS) was able to deliver its key targets for
2018, highlights of which are the following:

Knowledge Connect
Memorandum Order No. 18-4843 was issued, prescribing the adoption of the DTI Data Catalogue
as the standard governing the data convention, collection and storage of clients' information using
manual or automated application, across all programs of DTI Bureaus and Offices. This Order
defines the structure and convention of data fields, both common and program-specific of clients
profile to enhance data quality and utility for the efficient and effective delivery and monitoring of DTI
services. This was made possible through the establishment of baseline data and analysis of DTI
Forms. In addition, encoding templates were developed, together with master data model.

Data Privacy Implementation


Plans and targets for the five (5) pillars of the data privacy implementation were achieved, specifically
on 1) appointing a DPO; 2) conducting privacy impact assessments; 3) creating a privacy
management program; 4) implementing privacy and security measures; and 5) preparing breach
response procedures. Activities performed include the following: conducted training/awareness
sessions; prepared and implemented communication plan; issued Operations Manual; registered
concerned processes with the National Privacy Commission; conducted Privacy Impact Assessment
(PIA) integrated recommended controls in post-assessment report; and submitted the 2017 Annual
Security Incident Report, among others.

Handog-Pamana
The Handog-Pamana Knowledge Management (KM) Policy Guidelines was signed and issued
through Memorandum Order 18-4608. Six (6) retirees were documented (with photos and/or video,
transcription.

Knowledge Resource Hub


In 2018, some 2,354 files/documents were uploaded in the DTI KR Hub. The facility was visited
55,045 times.

E-library
A total of 125 titles were digitized.

DTI Direct
The DTI Direct was able to address a total of 68,697 queries, which is 6% higher than the
64,803 queries attended to during the same period last year. Some 95% of all these queries
have been attended to within prescribed time.

Branding
Prepared a Department Order (DO) constituting the Corporate Identity Committee (CIC) that
drafted the Corporate Identity Manual (CIM).

Publications
A total of 35 issues of What’s Up were released.
Freedom of Information
A total of 117 FOI requests were processed within prescribed time. An FOI Seminar was
conducted for FROs for Central and Regional participants.

Zeto to Hero
The KMIS Team was able to document 18 micro and small enterprises from 9 regions for the
Zero to Hero Advocacy Initiative.

Creative Assistance
 Produced 37 social cards;
 Provided video and photo coverages for 122 events;
 Processed 306 collateral review clearances (CRC);
 Produced 16 audio-visual presentations (AVPs); and
 Developed 99 designs and layouts.

 Yammer: 735 total posts

Website
Prepared the DO 18-106 with the subject DTI Website Policy Guidelines signed by Secretary
Ramon M. Lopez that serves as a guide in developing and managing the Department’s website.

The following are the highlights of the performance of the DTI website from January to
December of this year:
