Review :
This article focused on traditional unity and measures by Kinari Villagers in Solok regency. They
are still use their hand to measure something. The reason is the process, methods and actions of
measuring carried out using modern methods that they have not fully understand, especially the
older generation so that they seek alternative tools that they agree on and achieve common goals.
This is a cultural element contained in the patterns of language they have in the interaction process
in solving a problem. There are 15 form of traditional unity and measures using hands which consist
of dapo, eta, jangka, jari, ganggam, binjek, kauik, kapa, rueh, sauek, suok, culiak, pacik, paluak and
patiak. These form is a basic noun and it has the differences hand gesture in measuring. Basic noun
means the unit form used is based on how to measure objects that are measured. Unfortunately,
using this method is not accurate.
The reason I choose this article between two articles because I’m interested with the topic. It is give
me more information that in modern era there are some community that still use traditional way to
measures something.
