 Reason :
The reasons we choose Dani tribe’s tradition because they have a strange
traditions. One of their traditions is cutting their finger. They are believe this ritual is the
way to show sadness and grief left by family members who died.
 Relation :
Hubungan antara ritual potong jari dengan antropolinguistik yaitu melihat
penggunaan bahasa dalam pelaksanaan ritual. Disini kita meneliti arti dan
makna dalam bahasa yang mereka gunakan dalam pelaksanaan ritual.

 Research question :
1. Why Dani tribes pick to cut their finger to show sadness and grief left by family
members who died?
2. Is there a sort readout or mantra before doing this ritual?
3. How do they cut their finger?
