LastMaker Demo:

When using LastMaker functionality, please observe the prompt lines that appear in
the status bar bottom left.

LMB = Left Mouse Button


MMB = Middle Mouse Button
RMB = Right Mouse Button

Open LDemo1.v3e
Click on Imports icon, click on drop down menu and briefly explain Imports, conversion of STL &
IGS etc...
Use LM_Igs conversion process.pdf as a quick show of how to convert an IGS file.

Back in LastMaker.

Click on SOLID VIEW icon

Quickly show last movement and rotation.


Briefly explain viewing options particularly the 'V' key (pre-set views)

Select Modify Module

Create a circular shaped line at ankle point.

Click Solid View icon to turn off solid.

Select Offset icon

Click on Offset Region icon


and select line

Click twice on the ARROW LEFT button – click OK


Position the last to see the offset.

Click UNDO / REDO to show effect, also shows we have undo/ redo.

Select Adjust icon

Change value of Toe Spring and click Yellow Last icon


Explain rest of adjust values and click OK button.
Click undo.

Select Profiles icon

Select Profile Cone icon

Position first point - Position second point - Position third point and move third point.
Explain rest of toolbar,
Click undo

Select Verify Module

Select Verify – Cross sections icon

In the tool bar.


Explain 2 point, 3 point, Perpendicular, Ball and Edit Move functions.

Click on Cross section – Parallel icon

Select the cross section (White Line), in Distance box type in 10 and click OK button.

This should give you a complete set of cross sections from toe to heel at 10mm increments.

Click undo
Select Cross section – Side profile icon

This puts a cross section through the centre of the last, so it can be exported to 2D Engineer, for
the creation of TOE and BACK templates, for a way of checking screen last against the realistic
last.

Go to, File – Export – Sections and click on PAT.


Move mouse around until the cross section is highlighted then click LMB.
Browse for your Patterns folder, type in a name and Save.
A message – 'Pat file successfully saved' click OK.

The PAT file can be opened in 2D Engineer.

Open SideProfile 1.jpg and SideProfile 2.jpg to show how toe and back templates are created.

WITHIN 2D Engineer, these can be modified if incorrect and imported back into LastMaker to
update the modifications to the screen last.

Toe Swap:
Open LDemo2.v3e
From the menu bar, select, Window – Vertically.

Select Modify module icon

Activate LDemo2.v3e window and select CUT icon

Click on Cut back and remove bottom icon

hover the mouse over the cross section. When highlighted, click LMB.

Activate LDemo1.v3e window, click on Cut toe icon

hover the mouse over the cross section. When highlighted, click LMB.

Activate LDemo2.v3e window, select Toe swap icon

Click on Alignment icon

Click the OK button.

Maximise the LDemo2.v3e window, click on Process icon

Click 2 or 3 times on the Forward Arrow button


Click on Blend button, click on Unify button, click OK button.

Click on Solid View icon, click on Wire frame icon, rotate and zoom around.

Click on Wire frame icon, click on Solid view icon


Click undo 6 times.

Grading:
Select Information from the Menu bar and select Gender
Select Default.GRF and open.
Click on Example
Click on size 5, click on width B click on OK.

Select Grading module icon


Select Grading icon
Select Default.GRF and open.
Click on size 3, hold CTRL key down and click on size 7, click on width B click on OK.
Progress bars will flash on the screen.

Select Window from menu bar, select Vertically.

Activate the LDemo2_7_B.v3e


Select Verify module icon

Select Compare icon.


From the toolbar, click the first icon

from the list select LDemo2_3_B.v3e click OK


Maximise the LDemo2_7_B.v3e window and turn off Solid View.

From the same toolbar, click on second icon.

Uncheck Display button for Surface 1

Click second button in the stack icons area

Click on the Measure button

Hover the mouse until the first cone line is highlighted and click LMB
Place the point on the line
Hover the mouse until the first cone line is highlighted and click LMB
Place the point on the line
The measurement between the two will shown. Click OK.

Click on Export icon and explaining that the last can go to ShoeDesign (.lst/Body) or, as an STL or
IGS to a milling machine.
