Course Objectives: This paper intends to train the students how to draft legal notices and how to reply to legal notices. Also aims at knowing the “why, when
and how” of legal notice. Students are required to learn to draft notices and their replies under expert guidance such as registered Advocates in the court of law.

Pre-requisites: 10 + 2

Student Learning Outcomes:


At the end of this course, the student will have mastered the following:
1) how to draft legal notice
2) procedure to send legal notice.
3) draft a reply to a legal notice

Course Contents/Syllabus:

Module I Drafting of legal notice 50%
Basic format of notice, procedural requirements of notice, Notice by landlord to tenant for demand of possession of house on
expiry of lease, Notice of dishonour of Bill of Exchange to drawer, Notice for claiming damages for defamation, Notice of partner
leaving firm ETC.

Module II: Reply of legal notices 50%


Reply to Notice by landlord to tenant for demand of possession of house on expiry of lease, Notice of dishonour of Bill of
Exchange to drawer, Notice for claiming damages for defamation, Notice of partner leaving firm ETC.
Pedagogy for Course Delivery:

• For course students will be sent to courts or legal departments of different organizations in order to make them aware of practical aspect of the
subject.

• Students will be drafting legal notices and drafting replies .
