HR Segment

HR focused on having positive leadership to ensure a happier working environment.

To have a happy work environment → people should be happy → which requires team members
to have good cooperation → which needs communication

Through the Icebreaker, you learnt how to communicate with each other in big groups to strategize
the best way to accomplish your goal. By communicating, you can discuss and come with a good
strategy which everyone agrees on. Communication includes both speaking AND listening so after
informing others about the strategy make sure they understand by listening. Only if everyone is on the
same page, can everyone cooperate well. This leads to a happier team and happier work environment.

TnD segment: Kahoot

Though we did not manage to play the Kahoot quiz, you were given different scenarios of possible
conflicts that may happen in your Open OT. After that, we elaborated on different methods of conflict
resolution, using this model.

Avoidance: You avoid confronting the problem at the present moment, or ignore it completely
Accommodation: You give in entirely to the other party
Compromise: You both have to sacrifice one thing, but you arrive at a reasonable conclusion
Contention: You both disagree with each other, which results in a heated discussion until one of you
backs down
Collaboration: You both collaborate to come up with an idea that accommodates both your needs.
This is the most ideal form of conflict resolution

After this, we reminded you that conflicts will always arise, especially working in a big group like an
Open OT, but we should always find the most ideal response to the conflicts that arise and keep in
mind the consequences of our responses.
