release of amount for farmers cultivating in WTP land – Reg.,

Dear Sir,
With reference to the above cited subject, it is hereby submitted that land for WTP

was identified with survey No.528 in Shivapura village, Kudligi taluk.The proposed

land was found to be government land and hence necessary correspondence was

made through Tahasildar,Kudligi for acquiring land. But the land was preoccupied by

the local farmers and they have been cultivating in the land for past 25 years.

Although various ways were tried upon for evacuating the land, the farmers agitation

got stronger by the support of District farmer association president, Karnataka

Rakshana Vedike & others. Therefore as an intermediate solution it was decided

upon discussion with R.O to pay a goodwill amount to the farmers cultivating in the

land. Accordingly measurement of land was done by the government surveyor and

areas cultivated by farmers were finalized. After final negotiation amount of Rs.1 lakh

per acre was agreed between farmers and MEIL. We hereby request to accord

approval for the following amounts for making payment to the farmers.
