I have been playing the computer since I was ten years old. In my views, the development of

the computer is very fast. For me, the new cognition brought by this course is Legal Issues,

Photoshop and Publisher. In the reading assignment, I read a news report about a fine of

222,000 dollars by sharing downloading music. This article impressed me deeply and made

me realize the seriousness of copyright. The reason why this is a new understanding for me is

that my country is not as rigorous in copyright law as the United States. In addition, what

impresses me most in this part is the fair use scenario about education that teachers must cite

a part of resources on the educational intention. And then there's the organization of Creative

Commons which is amazing to me. So all of these about legal issues have overturned my

cognition and made me feel that the world I saw before was small. I want to be a qualified

teacher in the future, but to be a qualified teacher, I must pay attention to many details and

carry out education legally.

Adobe Photoshop, or "PS" for short, is an image processing software. From this class, I know

that advertisements often use this processor to add extra effects on models. Photoshop mainly

deals with digital images on computers. Using its many editing and drawing tools can

effectively carry on the picture editing work. PS has many functions, including image,

graphics, text, video, publishing and other aspects. First of all, I think PS is a very good

invention, and I also think many artists will use this convenient software to assist in painting.

In human history, there are a lot of imaginative people want to use a variety of ways to show

their imaginations, but the picture on the paper is hard to accurately describe their

imagination to people; however, PS can help us achieve the best effect of the ideal image and

enrich our imaginations. PS has many functions that can evolve our imaginations. Then, PS is

a necessary tool in advertising, because they can help these ads change all the shortcomings

and also can help the ads deceive the audience to achieve the best commercial effect. All this,

however, requires precision like how to accurately find and modify defects, how to precisely

mix colors, and how to achieve exquisite effects. Therefore, I think the invention of

Photoshop has helped us to improve our imaginations and restrict requirements for the

accuracy of pictures all the time.

In this course, I learned a new software called Publisher. Until I discovered the existence of

this software, I found that such good software can make menus, leaflets, and newsletters, etc.

Actually, I have always been curious about why the publisher is only available on Windows

but not on Mac. I found some online reports that it is because of problems in the commercial

market; however, it’s still suspicious about this answer since I learned a lesson that not all the

information are correct from the internet. For me, making a newsletter with it is as simple and

easy as Word.
