D1: Evaluated how the written script or script extract meets the requirements of a pre-

production script.
Script writing process
When writing my script, I ensured that I had always referred to the original client brief in
order for the script to meet the requirements. I re-watched 1 or 2 episode of “heartbeat”
which is the show that I got inspiration from, for it to help me think what to write and get a
better understanding of how to write a medical drama. I thought of 3 different type of ideas
for my script however decided on the final piece at the end which I created, I collected
research materials such as sound effects images of hospital/equipment’s and I researched
the roles of the equipment’s and what they are used for. Finally I then starting writing my
scripts whilst making adjustments along the way, then created a final draft.
Have I met the client requirements?
To know that my script is successful I remembered to go back and forth to the client
requirement. One requirement which I reached is the 5 minute length I made sure that my
writing was based on a 5 minute scene and nothing longer. For the ethical requirement that
my shows was not racial and religious belief were not mentions in order to not create any
controversy. My script included copyright label and intellectual property laws highlighted at
the bottom of the front script page. In order to create no discrimination I used a range of
different actors from different ethical backgrounds.
Script strengths:
Some of the strengths I made with my script is the fact that I made my show very realistic
close to what a medical drama is like. The way the I portrayed all the character were well
presented and met back with how the requirements for the character should be like in the
client brief. However I could’ve and more obstacles and drama within the show to make the
show more exciting and engaging.
How I used pre-production materials:
Some of the pre-production materials that ive used is when creating a mood-board, this
helped me create a structured storyline and a visual representation of how the characters,
and location would look like, to finalise the finishing product. I created a Gantt chart to help
me keep track of deadlines and due dates along the process.
Conclusion:
In conclusion I managed to create a well researched script meeting all the client
requirements from the client brief for example staying within the 5 minute limit located in
east London. I thoroughly over the legal and ethical issues which could’ve created any
issues.
