Bicycling at Crater Lake National Park

Klamath Falls, Ore. (JUNE 24, 2019) – Crater Lake National Park offers visitors three
different biking experiences in July, August or September. Riders can choose between Mountain
Biking, Winter Fat Tire Biking or cycling around Rim Drive, which is 33-miles long.

Park goers have the chance to go Mountain Biking at Crater Lake National Park. Mountain
Biking is located at Grayback Drive, a deconstructed trail where riders are only permitted. It is
not considered dangerous or thrilling and other cyclists at Crater Lake are permitted to ride on
Grayback Drive due to it not being strenuous. Winter Fat Tire Biking at Crater Lake occurs in
winter recreational areas.

Cyclists are recommended to be in a healthy state when starting their adventure. Cyclists will
face safety concerns on their adventure. This can be high speeds going downhill, rocks, animals
and potholes. Riders under the age of 16 must wear a helmet at Crate Lake. When participating
in bike trails, cyclists must obey all rules related to automobile traffic.

Crater Lake National Park is located in south-central Oregon and has been recognized as a
national park since 1902. Crater Lake National Park is the deepest lake in the United States and
the seventh deepest in the world.
