Welcome! I can hardly wait to meet each of you and start our journey through 5th
grade together. There is so much in store for us this year! I look forward to learning and

Please allow me to introduce myself. I graduated from the University of Utah with a
lifelong learner who has never lost my passion for seeking new information and life
experience. The best part of my profession is the opportunity I have to share that
husband, and the mother of three exceptional sons. I am an avid reader, explorer of the
natural world, animal lover, traveler, and baker. Collecting children’s books is a hobby I
have actively pursued for over twenty years. I love buying books, sharing books, giving
books away, and adding new, inspiring books to our class library. There are few things in
I believe every child has inherent gifts. I believe my job as a teacher is to help each
student find, magnify, and share those gifts with others. I believe in active, engaged
learning and will work to consistently integrate movement, the arts, authentic inquiry, peer
collaboration, and community service into our curriculum. I believe children are innately
bright, capable, compassionate humans and will work alongside them to help them achieve

Our classroom will be a busy, sometimes noisy place, but we will be purposefully
engaged in the content, communicating ideas, investigating possibilities, and working to
become better and more than we were yesterday. We will show respect for and value the
perspectives of others, embrace and celebrate the beauty of our diversity, and honor
those people (past and present) that foster positive change in the world.
