Mac and cheese with bacon

● 2 tbsp of melted ​butter


● 300g of elbow macaroni
● 2 tbsp plain flour
● 300 ml whole ​milk
● 200g grated cheddar
● 100 g breadcrumbs
● 100 g bacon

1. Heat oven to 200C/fan.


2. In a pot with salted water, boil the ​macaroni according to the package
directions (6 to 7 minutes). Drain and set aside.
3. Cook the bacon until crisp and set aside.
4. Over medium heat melt the butter in a ​saucepan​ then stir in the flour.
Cook for 1 min more, then gradually ​whisk​ in the milk until you have a
lump-free sauce. Cook for 5 mins, whisking all the time until
thickened.
5. Take off from the heat, then stir in all the grated cheddar.
6. Stir in the macaroni into the cheesy sauce and add the bacon.
7. Scatter over the breadcrumbs then bake for 20 mins until crisp and
golden.
GRATE THE CHEDDAR

COOK THE BACON ( Put half pack of bacon and cook it in a pot
until crisp. Set aside.)

MAKE THE SAUCE (Over medium heat melt the 2 tbs of butter in
a ​saucepan​ then stir in the flour. Cook for 1 min more, then
gradually ​whisk​ in the milk until you have a lump-free sauce. Cook
for 5 mins, whisking all the time until thickened.)

BOIL THE MACARONI ( Put some water in a pot and add 1tbs of
salt. Bring to boil and measure 300 g of macaroni. Put them in the
boiling water and leave them 7 mins, stirring until almost done.
Drain and leave aside.)
