Short story intro

CHAPTER 1: LOVE

INT - SHOPPING CENTER – AFTERNOON.

Amber and Max walk around shopping center holding hands. Laugh
at each other and act childish.

Both look at each other in the eyes.

MAX

I love you

Amber

I love you too

Amber and max sit down on a bench. Amber pulls out a pouch of
tobacco, papers and filters and starts rolling

Amber

Do you want one?

Max

Nah you know I don’t like those things; I don’t see the point
in it.

Amber lights her cigarette and rolls her eyes

Amber

Whatever

Amber carries on smoking

INT – BEDROOM – MORNING

MAX

Morning beautiful

Hello there

CHAPTER 2: CONFUSION

Ambers phone starts to ping as she receives several messages.

Amber turns her phones over, screen face down

Max

Who is constantly texting you all the time?

Amber

Don’t worry about it it’s no one?

Max

No I want to know who it is you constantly talking to, why you

being so secretive

Amber

It’s no one! Just the group chat. Stop asking

Amber turns away from Max in the bed. Max stares up at the
wall looking miserable.

INT – LIVING ROOM – AFTERNOON

Amber is sat on the sofa watching TV. Max comes over to sit
next to her. Amber shuffles over. Max still looks upset.

Max

Why are you being so distance with me. We had such a good
night last night what’s happened.

Amber

Your just being stupid

Max

This is what I mean. You’ve changed around me.

Ambers phone starts pinging. Amber pretends to ignore it. Max

goes over to grab the phone. Amber snaches it off of him.

What is your problem. Why you trying to look at my phone.

Max

Because your acting so weird. Somethings going on that I don’t

know about.

Amber

Stop being so stupid Max!

Max

No tell me. I deserve to know

Amber

Just go away

Max

Amber I WANT TO KNOW

Amber

(shouting) ok you want to know. Ok I’m seeing someone else.

You happy know. I’ve been cheating on you. Pause. I’ve been
seeing Peter, you friend.

Max looks at amber dead in the eye. Looking heartbroken on the

spot. Max slowly walks to the door and leaves.

Amber goes into their bedroom and starts to pack her stuff.
Amber walks out of the house with big bags.

Later on in the day

Max walks back into his house

CHAPTER 3: DENIAL

Max

(Raised voice) Amber?? Amber. Where are you?

Max walks quickly to the bedroom in distress. Max realizes

none of her clothes are there. Max gets his phone out of his
pocket and starts to call her.

Split screen of Max trying to call amber. Amber on the sofa
with her new boy.

INT – LIVING ROOM – EVENING.

Max sitting on the sofa drinking a bottle of vodka.

Max’s phone keeps ringing and pinging receiving messages.
Max running to the toilet to be sick.
