Strawberry Shortcake
Approx. 9” to head and 10” to hat.
Abbreviations:
*ch- chain
*slst- slip stitch
*BB- back bump
*FL- front loop
*sc- single crochet
*scdec- single crochet decrease
*hdc- half double crochet
*MC- magic circle
Legs (make 2)- With White, Bright Green, Warm Blush, and
an E hook
Starting with White
Round 1: Mc, ch1 place 5 sc in MC, slst to join. (5)
Now working in a continuous round.
Round 2: 2sc in each stitch around. (10)
Round 3: (*2sc, sc) repeat from * around. (15)
Round 4-5: sc in each stitch around. (15)
Round 6: sc in next 4 stitches, scdec 3 times, sc next 5
stitches. (12)
Round 7: sc in next 3 stitches, scdec 3 times, sc next 3
stitches. (9) Carry the yarn up as you go.
Switch to Bright Green
Round 8-9: sc in each stitch around. (9)
Switch to White
Round 10-11: sc in each stitch around. (9)
Switch to Bright Green
Round 12-13: sc in each stitch around. (9)

Round 15-17: ch1, hdc in each stitch around. (40) Tie off
and weave in ends. Now working in rows.
Switch to Bright Green
Row 1: skip 13 sc and attach yarn with a ch1 in
the 14th stitch and sc in next 13 stitches. (14)
Row 2: ch1 and turn, sc in each FL across.

Row 3: ch1 and turn, scdec, sc in next 10
stitches, scdec. (12)
Row 4: ch1 and turn, sc in each FL across.

Row 5: ch1 and turn, sc across. (12) continue
to sc down the side of your brim and all the way
around the hat. Slst to other side of brim to join. Tie off
and leave a tail for sewing on to head.
*Sew on strawberry seeds with a little bit of red and a
tapestry needle.
*Place the hat over your curly hair and sew in to place.
*With a little bit of pink and a tapestry needle, place a few
stitches all around the top of the hat so it says down.
