1 BACKGROUND

The uniform versus no uniform debate

started back in 1996 when the United States
Department of Education pushed for
uniforms in public schools to decrease
violence and increase discipline

Some of the pros to implementing a school

uniform policy are decreased violence,
increased discipline, helps keeps students
focused and levels the playing field for all
students

3 CON

Some of the cons to implementing a school

uniform policy are students restricted
freedom of expression, increased
conformity and decreased individuality

4 EXPERIMENT

Experiment #1 implemented a uniform

policy to see the effects on rates of
attendance, graduation, academic
proficiency, and student conduct;
Experiment #2 shows what happens when a
school uniform is implemented in a school
setting

5 RESULTS

Experiment #1 shows that having a school

uniform policy improved all of those factors
based on the previous years statistics;
Experiment #2 shows that students with
uniforms on are perceived as being more
intelligent and disciplined
