Frictional unemployment is short-term unemployment or when workers are unemployed

and looking for work in a healthy economy. Many factors cause frictional unemployment,
such as: getting married and having to move, many taking leave to take care of family or
relatives, and some already have enough savings so that they leave their jobs. This is a
normal part of a dynamic economy.

During the recession, frictional employment declined because workers were afraid to quit
their jobs even if they did not like the job. They know it will be difficult to find a better job.

Frictional unemployment is not harmful to the economy, increasing Frictional

unemployment means more workers are moving to better positions. The fact benefits the
economy, because companies will have more opportunities to find quality workers.
Frictional unemployment is always present in the economy, resulting from temporary
transitions made by workers and employers or from workers and employers having
inconsistent or incomplete information.

For example, a first-time job seeker may lack the resources or efficiency for finding the
company that has the job that is available and suitable for him and as a result does not take
other work, temporarily holding out for the better-paying job. Another example of when
frictional employment occurs is when a company abstains from hiring because it believes
there are not enough qualified individuals available for the job, when in actuality there is.
