take Action?

BREAKING NEWS

level. Read more to see what has happened to the residents of Richmond.

This minor earthquake has caused the waters to enter the city of Richmond flooding streets, homes,
and causing the airport to shut down. Some homes that have been abandoned and are very old have
split in half. Now the earthquake is very minor but officials are still trying to understand why some
homes and properties have split in half. Residents are concerned, no relief has been sent to
Richmond one homeowner says “My home has flooded the streets and homes are filled with water
and there is no relief, we are stressed and scared. We don’t know what will happen.”. Officials say
they are doing as much as they can at this time and are going out to help those who’s home have
been flooded and haven't been able to leave their homes.

Officials also say that bridges are now safe to use so if you are able to leave your home you can go
over to Vancouver where it is much safer and shelters are starting to open up for those who do not
have a place to stay there. One thing many residents complained about how the Liberal
Government was not giving any aid. Just recently the Liberal Government have said they and the
provincial government would not be giving relief since they cannot afford it. This has caused an
uproar of anger with residents here in Richmond some saying they are very disappointed and are
unsure of what to do.

The NDP party says that even though there isn’t enough money they will help aid those in
Richmond and they will bring sandbags to residents and help get them out of their homes. It has
become very apparent the Liberal government is not going to take any responsibility and the NDP
are stepping up to help the residents. Will this incident affect the Liberal in the upcoming election?
