Hypothesis

An object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external

force is applied to it.

Procedure and observation:

First we place the carts next to each other, facing the same direction. we place three books on top

of the first cart and we apply force to the cart to induct motion. We then measure all the variables

(time,force applied,distance traveled etc…) . We then put all of the ten books the second cart and

repeat the same process.

Because the 2nd cart is heavier it is harder to move, and harder to stop once its moving. The

second cart is heavier thus it has greater amount of mass. We can see that it has more inertia

because it has more mass.
