Judge suspect

In the courtroom,
you plead not guilty and beg for
your freedom. The evidence plays
against your pleads.
I announce
“The court is in recess. If you wish
to change your testimony, now is
the time. If you plead guilty now,
we may be able to cut your
sentence.”
Your words
mean nothing to me. Your tone
shows how guilty you are, so, is
there any reason you have to put
up a fight?
The courtroom
Falls silent as you confess to your
crimes. Your guilty pleads show a
direct connection to the evidence.
The gavel
hits against the table. The last
words in the trial ring through the
courtroom. “This man is guilty.”
Case closed
I say I’m not guilty please don’t
send me to jail.
