In the menu item “Insert” you find:
Text
Barcode
Graphic
Date/Time
Counter
Shift Code
Extern Text
With one of these functions another object can be attached next to the last object. The listing above mentions the
objects available.
“Text” is a simple text object. You select the desired font and enter the text. You can leave the text entry with the key
ENTER.
With “Barcode” you define, besides to the content, also the type of barcode. Plaintext can also be printed, if you enter
the position of it.
If you want to embedd a graphics object, you just choose a graphics file. This will always be loaded from the folder
C:\paul_leibinger\jetedit3\graphics.
The graphics will be copied in this job, i. e. if the original graphics file is changed later with the graphics editor, it does
not influence the job.
With the date/time-object, the Leibinger JET3 investigates itself the desired settings, that can be entered via this
dialog:
Under the “Replacements”, fixed numbers, weekdays, months or years can be replaced by own text.

A counter object contains a number, that will be automatically incremented by the Leibinger JET3.
A counter can have up to 10 digits. The step width defines, how much it is incremented. The value of repetitions tells,
how many times the same counter reading should be repeated, until it should be imcremented again. The counter
always begins with the start value and runs to the end value. Then it is automatically set to its initial value, in order to
run to the end value.
The direction of the counter can be forward or backwards.
By clicking on “Shiftcode-object” you can deposit particular text for every shift. A shift is a special period of a day.
Both contain dummies, that can be filled with printing data via the serial connection or the Ethernet connection.
Is a “External text-object” filled with data, the data is printed until new data arrives. With a mailing-object the external
data is only printed once. In case of no further data, an error is created.
11
JetEdit3 V3.0.0.7
Via the parameter “character offset” you define, from which character the n characters for this object are copied. Are
several “external objects” present, that object determines how many characters are needed for a print, whose sum =
character offset plus dummy is the biggest.
By clicking on “mailing-object” each object is attached with exactly one field. The data for a print consists of several
panels, that are separated from eachother by tab characters. Since in the source of the data for each field can have
any arbitrary length, the value for dummies only shows how much space the length of text can take.
Here all parameters can be changed that refer to the chosen object.
