Activity Name: Airplane number game

RECOMMENDED AGE AND GROUP SIZE FOT THIS ACTIVITY: 4-5 years old, 10 children

GOALS OR OBJECTS for this activity in terms of skills and/or concepts for children. Goals will

1. Recognize the flying characteristics of paper airplane with wings.


2. Learning basic statistics with record keeping
3. Gross motor skills of tossing airplane.

MATERIALS AND/OR PREPARATION

Bright colored paper


Black Crayon or Permanent Marker
Large Plastic Container

WHAT PROCEDURES will you use? Give a step-by-step description of the activity including
introduction, content, and closure.

1. Fold 10 paper airplanes


2. Write one number on each plane.
3. Set a large bucket on the ground. Take 10 steps away and set the pile of planes down
4. Let the child lightly launch all 10 airplanes towards the bucket.
5. Collect airplane after all 10 planes have launched.
6. Call out the numbers that has made it into the bucket.
7. Repeat several rounds of tossing all airplanes.
8. Was there one airplane that landed in the bucket more often? Keep a chart record.
