Course #: 246-427-402
Title: Clinical Immunology
Fall 2003

PART A. COMMENTS: COURSE EVALUATION

Part of the class time was utilised in writing the material which could have been avoided
by giving out handouts

1c) Sometimes class time ran past the ending time which caused a lot of rushing to get all
of the notes.
3b) The exams were usually long and difficult for undergraduate study

The course was a good & beneficial course. But could have included more clinical
aspects to course like immunity to infectious agents, tumor & transplantation
immunology in detail. Overall a good course

For the most part this class was highly educational & interesting. It gave a good
overview of the subject

Overall, the course was very interesting.

Why – will the school really change.

PART B. COMMENTS: INSTRUCTOR EVALUATION

6b) Sometimes – but not often

6c) You had to write as fast as instructor was speaking which was extremely difficult

Instructor had great knowledge of the subject. But the course material could have been
well presented & better explained if the presentation would have been better. Instructor
did his job well.

Terrible – no consistancy to grading and tells class that

Thought the enthusiasm was great! I do think however that by writing all the notes in
class I learned less. Having notes to go along w/the lecture was going would have been
more helpful. Also, the multiple choice on the test was out of the text book, but the text
was optional so that was a little confusing.

Instructor should change his lecture style…either give students handouts containing the
long paragraph style overhead notes so that we can add spoken notes to it or he should
leave notes as is but allow ample uninterrupted time for students to copy notes. Instructor
should also do a better job of informing students which chapters or pgs. of chapters in the
textbook student should read in preparation for the lectures, notes, and exams.

One of the best professors I have had since coming to UWM. Clearly interested in
furthering students’ ability to write and better our educational experience. Cares about
preparing us for graduate school or the workforce.

It was very difficult taking down the mass of notes we were expected to and also listen to
the things we needed to remember at the same time. I found it odd that the multiple
choice questions on the exam (30%) were taken from the “optional” text book and not
covered at all in the course content.

Enthusiastic. Good command of immunology. Did not turn back the first test for a long
time which bothered people. I don’t understand why we cannot keep our tests for
studying purposes.
