Advanced Seminar in Health Sciences

Part A

• The course was very challenging. Although it took many hours, it was very
informative and I learned a lot
• The doctoral students would fit better in HMS seminar
• The purpose of this course with in the broader curriculum needs evaluation.
Diffuse topics across MS and PhD students limited course effectiveness and
context applicability. The course ends up being little more than practice of
presenting.

Part B

• A greater role for the instructor, given necessary course modifications would be
appreciated.
• The instructor was unnecessarily critical of some student’s presentations. The
overall objective of presenting on a new topic are assisted in broadening focus.
• Challenges students to think beyond normal. Very good.
