Beachtung vor Inbetriebnahme
Sie haben ein hochwertiges RIESTER Infrarot Multi-
Funktions-Thermometer erworben, welches ent-
sprechend der Richtlinie 93/42 EWG hergestellt
wurde und ständig strengsten Qualitätskontrollen
unterliegt. Die hervorragende Qualität wird Ihnen
jahrelang zuverlässige Messungen garantieren.

Ohrthermometer (mit Maximumvorrichtung)

Bitte lesen Sie die Gebrauchsanweisung vor
Inbetriebnahme sorgfältig durch, und bewahren Sie
sie gut auf.
Sollten Sie Fragen haben, stehen wir Ihnen jeder-
zeit gerne zur Verfügung. Unsere Adresse finden

Gebrauchsanweisung. Die Adresse unseres
Vertreters erhalten Sie gerne auf Anfrage.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass die einwandfreie und
sichere Funktion dieses Gerätes nur dann gewähr-
leistet wird, wenn das Zubehör zu diesem Gerät
ausschließlich aus dem Hause RIESTER verwendet
wird.
Bitte beachten Sie vor Inbetriebnahme folgende
Dinge:
1. Stellen Sie sicher, dass die Messsonde (1) auch
in ungebrauchtem Zustand durch eine
Einmalsondenhülle (2) geschützt ist.
2. Bewahren Sie das Multi-Funktions-
Thermometer so auf, dass es für Kinder unzu-
gänglich ist.

 3. Setzen Sie das Multi-Funktions-Thermometer
niemals großer Hitze aus, da es sonst beschä-
digt werden könnte. (Bitte nicht in Flammen hal-
ten)
4. Setzen Sie das Multi-Funktions-Thermometer
niemals langer Sonneneinstrahlung aus, da die
Messergebnisse sonst ungenau werden.
5. Vermeiden Sie Temperaturmessungen an metal-
lischen Gegenständen, da sonst ungenaue (zu
niedrige) Messergebnisse angezeigt werden.
6. Unsachgemässe Handhabung des
Thermometers führt zur Beschädigung.
7. Wenn die Batterien zu schwach sind, wechseln
Sie diese bitte sofort gegen neue Batterien aus,
um ungenaue Messungen zu vermeiden.
8. Das „ri-thermo® N“ ist nicht dazu geeignet, die
genaue Diagnose des Arztes zu ersetzen. Bitte
wenden Sie sich im Zweifelsfall an Ihren Arzt.
9. Beim Messen der Temperatur von Flüssigkeiten
bzw. beim Messen der Temperatur von
Oberflächen muss ein Mindestabstand von 5
mm eingehalten werden.
10. Verwenden Sie das Thermometer niemals
ohne Sondenhüllen da die Verschmutzung
der Messsonde fehlerhafte Messungen zur
Folge haben kann

2. Anwendung
Dieses Ohrthermometer wurde zur zeitweisen
Messung und Überwachung der menschlichen
Körpertemperatur hergestellt. Es kann für
Menschen aller Altersklassen verwendet werden.

3. Mehrfachverwendung (Erweiterter
Messbereich)
Das “ri-thermo® N“ bietet einen erweiterten
Messbereich, der von 0 °C bis 100.0 °C (32.0 °F to
212.0 °F) reicht; das Produkt kann als Ohr-
Thermometer zur Messung der Körpertemperatur
verwendet werden, aber auch zur Messung der
Oberflächentemperatur folgender Objekte heran-
gezogen werden:
• Oberflächentemperatur der Milch in
Babyflaschen
• Oberflächentemperatur des Badewassers für
Säuglinge
• Umgebungstemperatur

Messungen der Ohrtemperatur innerhalb von nur 1
Sekunde.

Genau und zuverlässig

Auf Grund der einzigartigen Bauausführung der
Messonde, des modernen Infrarotsensors und des
ganzen Eichverfahrens können mit diesem Gerät
äusserst genaue und zuverlässige Messungen der
Ohrtemperatur erreicht werden.

Thermometer bequem und einfach zu handha-
ben.
• Die Benutzung des Riester “ri-thermo® N“ übt

tale Thermometer und angenehmer als orale
Thermometer.
Selbstanzeigespeicher
Das Produkt zeigt automatisch den Wert der letz-
ten Messung an, wenn das Gerät eingeschaltet
wird.
Sicher und hygienisch
• Es besteht kein Risiko für einen Glasbruch oder
die Einnahme von Quecksilber.
• Absolut sicher verwendbar bei Kindern.
• Einwegschutzhüllen für die Messonde machen
das “ri-thermo® N“ vollkommen hygienisch.
Fieberalarm
10 kurze Pieptöne alarmieren den Patienten, dass
er möglicherweise Fieber hat.

4. Wichtige Sicherheitsvorschriften
• Benutzen Sie das Thermometer nur für die
Zwecke, für die er bestimmt ist. Bitte beachten
Sie die allgemeinen Sicherheitsvorkehrungen,
wenn Sie ihn bei Kindern anwenden.
• Benutzen Sie das Thermometer stets mit einer
neuen unbeschädigten Schutzhülle für die
Messonde, um Infektionen zu vermeiden. Nur
Schutzhüllen für die Messonde, die mit dem
Gütezeichen von Riester versehen sind, garanti-
ren, dass Sie genaue Messungen vom “ri-ther-

mo® N“ erhalten.
• Tauchen Sie das Riester Infrarot-Ohr
Thermometer “ri-thermo® N“ nicht ins Wasser
noch in andere Flüssigkeiten (nicht wasserdicht).
Bezüglich Reinigung und Desinfektion folgen Sie
bitte den Anweisungen im Kapitel "Reinigung
und Aufbewahrung”.
• Setzen Sie das Gerät und die Schutzhüllen für
die Messonde nicht dem direkten Sonnenlicht
aus und bewahren Sie diese an einem staubfrei-
en, trockenen Ort bei einer Temperatur zwi-
schen 10° - 40°C (50 °F - 104 °F) auf.
• Verwenden Sie das Thermometer nicht, wenn
am Messteil oder am Gerät selbst Anzeichen
von Beschädigungen erkennbar sind. Sollte das
Thermometer tatsächlich beschädigt sein, ve
suchen Sie bitte nicht, das Gerät selbst zu repa-
rieren! In diesem Fall setzen Sie sich bitte mit
Ihrem nächstgelegenen Riester Kundenservice
in Verbindung.
• Ohrenschmalz im Gehörgang kann niedrigere
Temperaturmesswerte zur Folge haben.
Vergewissern Sie sich bitte, dass der
Gehörgang sauber ist, um genaue Messwerte
zu erhalten.
• Dieses Riester Infrarot-Ohr Thermometer
besteht aus Hochqualität-Präzisionsteilen.
Lassen Sie das Gerät nicht fallen! Schützen Sie
es vor heftigen Schlägen und Stössen. Biegen
Sie das Gerät und die Messonde nicht!

Messonde bitte ausser Reichweite der Kinder
auf.

6. Wie das Riester Infrarot-Ohr

Thermometer die Ohrtemperatur
misst

Der Riester “ri-thermo® N“ misst die

Infrarotenergie, die vom Mittelohr und dem umlie-
genden Gewebe ausgestrahlt wird. Diese Energie
wird von Linsen aufgefangen und in
Temperaturwerte umgewandelt. Die direkt vom
Mittelohr (Trommelfell) erhaltenen Messwerte

gewährleisten die genaueste Ohrtemperatur. Am
umliegenden Gewebe des Gehörgangs vorgenom-
menen Messungen ergeben niedrigere Messwerte
und können eine fehlerhafte Fieberdiagnose verur-
sachen.
Zur Vermeidung von ungenauen Messungen:
• Zuerst ziehen Sie eine Schutzhülle über die
Messonde.
• Schalten Sie dann das Thermometer ein, indem
Sie den O/I-Knopf drücken
• Nach Ertönen eines Pieptons (das Symbol der
Temperaturskala leuchtet auf) richten Sie den
Gehörgang gerade, indem Sie das Ohr an der
Mitte leicht nach hinten und oben ziehen.
• Führen Sie nun die Messonde in den Gehörgang
ein, drücken Sie den Startknopf und belassen Sie
die Messonde so lange im Ohr, bis das
Thermometer durch einen Piepton das Ende des
Messvorgangs anzeigt.
Das Riester Infrarot-Ohr Thermometer “ri-thermo®
N“ wurde klinisch getestet und erwies sich als
sicher und genau, wenn es gemäss der
Bedienungsanleitung verwendet wurde.

9. Gebrauchshinweis

Wichtig: Vor jeder Messung eine neue unbeschä-

digte Schutzhülle auf der Messonde anbringen. Die
Nichtbefolgung dieser Massnahme kann zu fehler-
haften Temperaturmessungen führen!

1. Drücken Sie den O/I-Knopf.

Die LCD-Anzeige wird aktiviert
und zeigt 2 Sekunden lang
alle Abschnitte.
2. Der Wert der letzten Messung
erscheint automatisch
2 Sekunden lang mit dem
Symbol "M”
(Speicher) auf der Anzeige.
3. Wenn das °C- bzw. °F-Symbol
aufleuchtet, ertönt ein Piepton,
und das Thermometer ist für
die Messung bereit.
4. Richten Sie den Gehörgang gerade,
indem Sie das Ohr nach oben bzw.
hinten ziehen, so dass das
Mittelohr klar erkennbar wird.
• Kinder unter 1 Jahr:
- Ziehen Sie das Ohr gerade nach
hinten.
• Kinder ab 1 Jahr und Erwachsene:
- Ziehen Sie das Ohr nach hinten
bzw. oben.
5. Während Sie das Ohr zurückhal-
ten, führen Sie die Messonde in
den Gehörgang ein und drücken
den "START”-Knopf. Halten Sie

 den Knopf solange gedrückt, bis
das „Beep“-Signal ertönt. Dieses Signal
bestätigt ihnen das Ende der Messung.

6. Ziehen Sie das Thermometer

wieder aus dem Gehörgang.
Die LCD-Anzeige gibt die
gemessene Temperatur an.

BEMERKUNG:
10 kurze Pieptöne erklingen, wenn die Temperatur
37.5 °C übersteigt, um den Patienten zu alarmie-
ren, dass er möglicherweise Fieber hat.

7. Nehmen Sie die Schutzhülle nach jeder

Messung von der Messonde.
Folgen Sie dazu bitte den Anleitungen in Punkt
8 "Wechsel der Schutzhülle der Messonde".

8. Um bei aufeinander folgenden Messungen

höchste Genauigkeit zu erzielen, warten Sie
bitte 30 Sekunden nach jeweils 3-5 Messungen.

BEMERKUNG:

• Kleinkinder legt man am besten flach auf den

Bauch mit dem Kopf in seitlicher Stellung, so
dass das Ohr nach oben gerichtet ist. Bei älte-
ren Kindern oder Erwachsenen ist es besser,
leicht seitlich hinter dem Patienten zu stehen.
• Messen Sie die Temperatur stets in demselben
Ohr, da die Temperaturwerte von Ohr zu Ohr
variieren können.
• Nach dem Schlafen warten Sie bitte ein paar
Minuten, bevor Sie die Ohrtemperatur messen.
• In den folgenden Situationen wird empfohlen, in
demselben Ohr drei Temperaturmessungen vor-
zunehmen und davon die höchste als Messwert
zu nehmen:

 1) Neugeborene in den ersten 100 Tagen.

2) Kinder unter drei Jahren mit einem gefährdeten

Immunsystem, bei denen das Vorhandensein
oder Nichtvorhandensein von Fieber entschei-
dend sein kann.
3) Wenn der Benutzer den richtigen Gebrauch des
Infrarot-Ohr Thermometers erstmals einübt, bis
er sich mit dem Gerät vertraut gemacht hat und
beständige Messwerte erhält.

10. Umstellung von Fahrenheit auf

Celsiusgrade und umgekehrt

Das Riester Infrarot-Ohr Thermometer “ri-thermo®

N“ kann die gemessene Temperatur entweder in
Fahrenheit oder Celsiusgraden anzeigen. Um die
Anzeige von °C auf °F zu wechseln, schalten Sie
das Gerät einfach aus (O/I) und drücken Sie den
Startknopf 5 Sekunden lang. Nach diesen 5
Sekunden lassen Sie den Startknopf wieder aus,
und auf der Anzeige leuchtet die gegenwärtige
Messskala (°C- bzw. °F-Symbol) auf. Schalten Sie
nun die Messskala zwischen °C und °F hin und her,
indem Sie wieder auf den Startknopf drücken.
Wenn Sie die gewünschte Skala gewählt und ein-
gestellt haben, warten Sie wieder 5 Sekunden, bis
das Gerät automatisch den Messbereit-Modus ein-
stellt.

11. Auslesen der Messwerte aus dem

Speicher
Das ri-thermo® N kann die letzten 12 Messwerte
aus dem Speicher auslesen.
Um diese abzurufen beachten Sie bitte folgendes:

12. Reinigung und Aufbewahrung

Verwenden Sie ein

Alkoholschwämmchen oder
einen mit Alkohol befeuchteten
Wattebausch (70% Isopropyl),
um das Thermometergehäuse

 und die Messonde zu reinigen. Vergewissern Sie
sich, dass keine Flüssigkeit ins Innere des
Thermometers eindringt. Verwenden Sie keine krat-
zenden Reinigungsmittel, Verdünner oder Benzol
zum Reinigen und tauchen Sie das Gerät keines-
falls in Wasser oder andere
Reinigungsflüssigkeiten. Achten Sie darauf, die
LCD-Oberfläche nicht zu zerkratzen.
Nehmen Sie die Batterie aus dem Gerät, wenn Sie
es für längere Zeit nicht benötigen, damit das
Thermometer nicht durch eine etwa undichte
Batterie Schaden nimmt.

13. Fehlermeldungen

14. Ersetzen der Batterie
Das ri-thermo® N wird mit einer Lithium Batterie
Typ CR2032 ausgeliefert. Ersetzen Sie diese,
sobald auf dem LCD-Display das blinkende

Entfernen Sie die Batteriefachabdeckung, in dem
Sie den Deckel nach hinten schieben.
Danach nehmen Sie die Batterie heraus und erset-

thermometer will be guaranteed only when
RIESTER accessories are used throughout.

Please note the following prior to using the

thermometer:
1. Ensure that the measuring probe (1) is shielded
by a disposable probe cover (2) (even when the
thermometer is not being used).
2. Keep the multi-function thermometer out of
reach of children.
3. Keep the multi-function thermometer away from
sources of intense heat, otherwise it could be
damaged. (Do not hold the thermometer in a
flame).
4. The multi-function thermometer must not be
exposed to the sun for any length of time, as this
will result in inaccurate temperature readings.

5. Do not make temperature measurements on
metallic objects, as this will result in inaccurate
(i.e. low) temperature readings.
6. Improper handling or use of the thermometer will
damage it.
7. When the batteries become low replace them
immediately with new batteries in order to avoid
inaccurate readings.
8. The "ri-thermo® N" thermometer is not intended
to be used as a substitute for a physician’s
accurate diagnosis. In case of doubt, please
consult your physician.
9. When measuring the temperature of fluids or
surfaces, keep the thermometer at least 5 mm
away from them.
10. Never use the thermometer without probe
cover, as this can lead to wrong measure-
ments.

4. Important Safety Instructions

prevent infection. Only Riester branded probe
covers can ensure that you get an accurate
measurement.

 • Never immerse the ri-thermo® N into water or
other liquids (not waterproof). For cleaning and
disinfecting please follow the instructions in the
<Cleaning and Storage> section.

• Keep the ri-thermo® N and the probe covers

away from direct exposure to the sun and keep
it in a dust-free, dry area at the temperature bet-
ween 5 - 40 °C (41 - 104 °F).

• Do not use the ri-thermo® N if there are signs of

damage on the measuring tip or on the instru-
ment itself. If damaged, do not attempt to repair
the instrument! Please contact your nearest
Riester customer service bureau.

• Earwax in ear canal may cause a lower tempe-

rature reading. Make sure subject's ear canal is
clean to ensure an accurate reading.

• The ri-thermo® N consists of high-quality preci-

sion parts. Do not drop the instrument! Protect
it from severe impact and shock. Do not twist
the instrument and the measuring probe!

6. How this Ear Thermometer

Measures Ear Temperature

The ri-thermo® N measures infrared energy radiated

from the eardrum and the surrounding tissue. This
energy is collected through the lens and converted
to a temperature value. The measured reading
obtained directly from the eardrum (Tympanic
Membrane) can ensure the most accurate ear tem-
perature. Measurements taken from the surroun-
ding tissue of the ear canal generate lower readings
and may result in misdiagnosis of a fever.

To avoid an inaccurate measurement:

• First slip on a probe cover.
• Switch on the thermometer by pressing the
O/I button.
• After one beep is heard (and the temperature

 scale icon is flashing), straighten the ear canal
by gently pulling the middle of the ear back and
up.
• Place the probe firmly into the ear canal, press
the Start button and keep the probe in the ear
until the thermometer beeps to identify the com-
pletion of the measurement.

The ri-thermo® N has been clinically tested and pro-

ven to be safe and accurate when used in accor-
dance with its operating instruction manual.

is the reminding signal that comfirms
the end of measurement.

6. Remove the thermometer from the

ear canal. The LCD displays the
measured temperature.

NOTE:
10 short beeps will sound when the temperature is
higher than 37.5 °C in order to alert the patient that
he/she may have fever.

7. Replace the probe cover after each measure-

ment. To do this, please follow the instruction in
point 8 <How to Reload a New Probe Cover>.

8. In order to assure the accurate readings, please

wait at least 30 seconds after 3-5 continuous
measurements.

NOTE:

• For an infant, it is best to have the child laying flat

with his head sideways so the ear is facing
upwards. For an older child or adult, it is best to
stand behind and slightly to the side of the
patient.
• Always take the temperature in the same ear,
since the temperature readings may be different
from the right ear and left ear.
• Please wait for a few minutes to take the ear tem-
perature after sleeping.
• In the following situations it is recommended that
three temperatures in the same ear be taken and
the highest one taken as the reading:
1) New born infants in the first 100 days.
2) Children under three years of age with a com-

 promised immune system and for whom the
presence or absence of fever is critical.
3) When the user is learning how to use the ri-ther-
mo® N for the first time until he/she has familia-
rized himself/herself with the instrument and
obtains consistent readings.

10. Changing from Fahrenheit to

Celsius and vice-versa
The Riester Digital Infrared Thermometer
ri-thermo® N can display temperature measure-
ments in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. To switch the
display between °C and °F, simply turn OFF the
unit, press and hold the Start button for 5 seconds;
When you stop pressing the Start button after 5
seconds, the current measurement scale (°C or °F
icon) will be flashed on the display. Toggle the mea-
surement scale between °C and °F by pressing the
start button again. When the measurement scale
has been chosen, wait for 5 seconds and the unit
will enter the ready for measuring mode automati-
cally.

12. Cleaning and Storage

The Riester Digital Infrared Thermometer is sup-

plied with one lithium battery, type CR2032.
Replace with a new CR2032 battery when the flas-
hing battery symbol appears on the LCD display.
Remove the battery cover by sliding it. Take out the
battery and put in a new one.

18. EMC requirements

• The thermometer complies with the EMC requi-
rements according IEC 60601-1-2. Radio trans-
mitting equipment, cellular phones etc. must not
be used in close proximity to the thermometer,
since this could influence the performance of the
thermometer. Particular care must be taken
when using strong emission sources such as
radio-frequency surgical equipment and similar
equipment, such as ensuring, for example, that
RF cables are not installed on or near the ther-
mometer. If in doubt, contact a qualified techni-
cian or your local distributor.

4. Consignes de sécurité importantes

• N’utilisez jamais ce thermomètre à d’autres fins

que celles pour lesquelles il a été conçu. Suivez
bien les consignes générales de sécurité lors des
prises de température d’enfant.
• A chaque prise, utilisez toujours le thermomètre
avec un nouvel embout jetable pour éviter toute
infection. Seuls les embouts Riester d’origine
vous garantissent l’obtention d’une mesure par-
faitement exacte avec le „ri-thermo® N“ .
• Ne plongez jamais le „ri-thermo® N“ dans de
l’eau ou autre liquide (il n’est pas étanche). Pour
son nettoyage et sa désinfection suivez les indi-
cations du section «Nettoyage et rangement».
• Placez l’appareil et les embouts jetables à l’abri
de toute exposition directe au soleil. Rangez-les
dans un endroit sans poussière, sans humidité et
à une température comprise entre 5 - 40 °C (41 -
104 °F).
• N’utilisez plus le „ri-thermo® N“ si la sonde ou le
corps de l’appareil luimême présentent des tra-
ces de dommages. S’il est abîmé ne tentez pas
de le réparer vous-même. Prenez contact avec le
service après-vente Riester le plus proche.
• La présence de cérumen dans le canal auditif
peut abaisser artificiellement la température lue.
Le canal auditif doit donc être bien propre pour

• Le „ ri-thermo® N “ est constitué des pièces de
précision de haute qualité. Ne le faîtes pas tom-
ber. Protégez-le des chocs brutaux et des coups.

6. Comment le „ri-thermo® N“ mesu-

re la température auriculaire

Le „ri-thermo® N“ mesure l’énergie infrarouge émise

par la membrane du tympan et les tissus avoisi-
nants. Cette énergie est recueillie par la lentille puis
convertie en une indication de température. La
mesure affichée obtenue directement du tympan
(membrane tympanique) donne la température
auriculaire la plus juste. Les mesures prises sur le

 tissu environnant du canal de l’oreille génèrent une
lecture de la température plus basse, ce qui peut
entraîner un mauvais diagnostic de la fièvre.

Pour éviter u ne mesure inexacte:

• Placer d’abord un embout jetable sur la sonde.
• Après le premier bip (le symbole de l’échelle de
température clignotant), redresser le canal auri-
culaire en tirant doucement le milieu de l’oreille
vers l’arrière et vers le haut.
• Bien introduire la sonde dans le canal de l’oreille,
appuyer sur le bouton «START» et le garder dans
l’oreille jusqu’au bip qui signale la fin de la mesu-
re.

Le „ri-thermo® N“ qui a été testé cliniquement, s’est

avéré particulièrement précis et sûr lorsque les
consignes du mode d’emploi sont bien respectées.

5. Pendant que l’oreille est tirée,

insérez bien la sonde dans

signal sonore confirme la fin de la prise de tem-
pérature.

6. Retirer le thermomètre de l’oreille, l’écran affiche

la température.

NOTE:
10 bips courts sont émis quand
la température est supérieure à 37,5 °C pour aver-
tir le patient d’un risque d’état fébrile.

7. Changer l’embout après chaque utilisation. Pour

procéder à cette opération se reporter au secti-
on «Changement de l’embout jetable».

8. Pour obtenir de nouvelles mesures précises,

veuillez attendre au minimum 30 secondes
aprés 3-5 prises de température effectuées à la
suite.

NOTE:
• Pour un enfant, la meilleure position est, allongé
à plat, la tête sur le côté, l’oreille face au plafond.
S’il s’agit d’un enfant plus âgé ou d’un adulte, il
faut se placer derrière lui, légèrement sur son
côté.
• Toujours prendre la température dans la même
oreille.
• Attendre quelques minutes après le réveil pour
prendre la température.
• Dans les situations suivantes il est recommandé

 de prendre 3 fois la température dans la même
oreille et de ne retenir que la température la plus
élevée :

1) Nouveaux-nés dans les 100 premiers jours.

2) Enfants de moins de 3 ans avec une absence

du système immunitaire et pour qui la présence
ou l’absence de fièvre est un élément critique.
3) Lorsque l’utilisateur apprend à se servir du ther-
momètre pour la première fois et jusqu’à ce qu’il
se soit suffisamment familiarisé avec celui-ci
pour obtenir des mesures homogènes.

10. Passage de Fahrenheit en Celsius

et inversement
Le „ri-thermo® N“ peut indiquer la température en
Fahrenheit ou en Celsius.
Pour passer d’une échelle d’affichage à une autre,
éteindre l’appareil, appuyer sans relâcher pendant
5 secondes sur le bouton «START».
Quand le bouton «START» est relâché après ces 5
secondes, l’échelle de mesure (symbole °C ou °F)
va clignoter à l’écran. Basculer de l’échelle °C à °F
en appuyant à nouveau sur le bouton «START».
Lorsque le choix de l’échelle a été fait, attendre 5
secondes et l’appareil va passer automatiquement
à la position prise de température.

12. Nettoyage et rangement

Utiliser un chiffon doux ou un tampon de coton
imbibé d’alcool (70% Isopropyl) pour nettoyer la
surface du thermomètre et la sonde. S’assurer
qu’aucun liquide n’entre à l’intérieur. Ne jamais uti-
liser d’agent abrasif, diluant ou benzène et ne
jamais plonger le thermomètre dans l’eau ou autre
liquide. Prendre soin de ne
pas rayer l’écran d’affichage.
Retirer la pile si le thermomè-
tre ne doit pas être utilisé pen-
dant une longue période pour
éviter que celle-ci ne l’endom-
mage en coulant.

 18. EMC requirements
• L’appareil est conforme aux exigences de com-
patibilité électromagnétique, conformément à la
norme CEI 60601-1-2. L’utilisation d’émetteurs
à haute fréquence, de téléphones portables etc.

performance de l’appareil s’en trouverait altérée.

9. Al medir la temperatura de líquidos o superficies
debe respetarse una distancia mínima de 5 mm.

seco, sin polvo, y a una temperatura entre 5 - 40

6. Método de medición del termómetro

ri-thermo® N
El ri-thermo® N mide la energía infraroja irradiada

por el tímpano y los tejidos circundantes. Esta
 energía es recogida por las lentes y convertida en
un valor de temperatura. La medición obtenida
directamente del tímpano (Membrana timpánica)
asegura la medición de la temperatura del oído de
la manera más exacta posible. Las mediciones
realizadas en los tejidos circundantes del conducto
auditivo dan lugar a valores más bajos que pueden
conducir al diagnóstico erróneo de inexistencia de
fiebre.
Cómo evitar una medición incorrecta:
• Primero coloque el capuchón
• Tras oir un sonido (y con el símbolo de la escala
de temperatura intermitente), tire de la zona
media de la oreja hacia arriba y para atrás, para
que el conducto auditivo quede en línea recta.
• Introduzca firmemente el extremo de medición en
el conducto auditivo, presione el botón de inicio
(Start) y no retire el termómetro del conducto
auditivo hasta que el termómetro emita otro soni-
do indicativo de que la medición ha finalizado.
El ri-thermo® N ha sido clínicamente validado y se
ha comprobado que resulta seguro y preciso siem-
pre y cuando se use de acuerdo con las instruccio-
nes de este manual.

Cuando la temperatura sea superior a 37.5 °C
sonarán 10 cortos bips para advertir al paciente de
que puede tener fiebre.
7. Después de cada medición se debe desechar el
capuchón. Para hacer esta operación, siga, por
favor las instrucciones del apartado 8: Cómo
cambiar el Capuchón Protector.
8. Para asegurar una total exactitud del resultado
de la medición, espere, por favor, un mínimo de
30 segundos tras haber efectuado de 3 a 5
mediciones seguidas.
NOTA:
• Es mejor que los niños pequeños estén tumba-
dos de lado, para que la oreja quede mirando
hacia arriba. Para niños mayores o adultos, es
mejor ponerse detrás de ellos y ligeramente hacia
un lado.
• Tome siempre la temperatura en el mismo oído,
ya que los resultados pueden variar si se toman
en el oído derecho o en el izquierdo.
• Por favor, espere unos minutos antes de tomar la
temperatura si el paciente estaba dormido.
• En los siguientes casos se recomienda realizar 3
mediciones y tomar como resultado de la medi-
ción el valor más alto:

1) Recién nacidos de menos de 100 dias de vida.
2) Niños menores de 3 años con el sistema inmu-
nológico comprometido y para los cuales resul-
ta crítica la presencia o ausencia de fiebre.
3) Cuando el usuario utiliza el termómetro de infrar-
rojos por primera vez y hasta que no se familia-
rice con su uso y obtenga resultados fiables.
10. Cambio de Fahrenheit a Celsius y
viceversa
El ri-thermo® N puede mostrar los resultados de la
medición en grados Fahrenheit o Celsius. Para
poner en marcha el display entre °C y °F, simple-
mente apague el termómetro, presione y mantenga
presionado durante 5 segundos el botón de inicio
(START). Pasado este tiempo aparecerá intermiten-
te en el display la escala de medición (°C o °F) .
Presionando de nuevo el botón de inicio podremos
pasar de una escala a otra. Una vez escogida la
escala, espere 5 segundos más hasta que el ter-
mómetro se ponga punto a para iniciar automática-
mente la medición.

11. Cómo recuperar 12 lecturas en el

Modo de memoria
El ri-thermo® N permite recuperar las últimas 12
lecturas. Para consultarlas, por favor, siga la sig-

12. Limpieza y Conservación
Use un paño o algodón
impregnado de alcohol
(Isopropílico 70%) para limpiar
la carcasa exterior del termó-

ón. Asegúrese de que no
entre líquido en el interior del
termómetro. Nunca use agentes limpiadores abra-
sivos, desengrasantes o benceno para limpiarlo ni
sumerja el termómetro en agua o en cualquier otro
líquido limpiador. Tenga cuidado de no romper la
superficie del display. Saque las pilas del termóme-
tro si no lo va a utilizar durante un largo periodo de
tiempo para evitar daños causados por una pila
que haya perdido líquido.

 14. Sustitución de la Batería
El termómetro Digital Riester de Infrarrojos funciona
con una pila de litio, tipo CR2032, que viene inclui-
da en cada unidad. Cuando en el display aparezca
el símbolo de la batería intermitente, usted debe
cambiarla. Utilice un destornillador adecuado para
quitar el tornillo que sujeta la tapa protectora de la
pila, quite la pila agotada y ponga una nueva.

18. Requisitos CEM

En las proximidades del termómetro no deben

6. Hринцип действия ушного термометра

ri-thermo® N измеряет инфракрасную энергию,
излучаемую в барабанной перепонке и окружающих
тканях. Энергия собирается линзой и преобразуется в
значение температуры. Gначение измерения,
полученное непосредственно из барабанной перепонки,
отображает наиболее точную температуру в ухе.
Hзмерение в окружающих тканях ушного канала может
привести к более низким показаниям и затруднить
выявление повышенной температуры.
=о избежание неточного измерения:
• Bначале наденьте колпачок.

 • Bключите термометр, нажав на кнопку O/I.
• Nосле одного звукового сигнала (символ
температурной шкалы мигает) выпрямите ушной
канал, осторожно оттянув середину уха назад и
вверх.
• Nлотно введите кончик в ушной канал, нажмите

8. Dля достижения точных результатов следует

выждать не менее 30 секунд после проведения 3-5
последовательных измерений.

Iекомендации:

• Vто касается младенцев, то измерение

температуры нужно проводить следующим
образом: положить ребенка на спину; голову
повернуть в сторону, так чтобы к уху был обеспечен
беспрепятственный доступ. Vто касается детей
более старшего возраста и взрослых, то измерять
их температуру следует, стоя сзади и чуть сбоку от
пациента.
• Bозьмите за правило измерять температуру в том
же самом ухе, так как для каждого уха прибор
может показывать свое значение температуры.
Qемпература в левом ухе может не совпадать с
температурой в правом ухе.
• Nожалуйста, не измеряйте температуру сразу

 после сна. Nодождите несколько минут.
• B следующих случаях рекомендуется замерять
температуру трижды и за правильную принимать
наибольшее из измеренных значений:
1) Dля новорожденных младенцев в первые 100 дней
жизни.
2) Dля детей не старше трех лет с ослабленной
иммунной системой, а также для тех, кому
заболевание или его отсутствие исключительно
важны.
3) Dля тех, кто только знакомится с прибором, изучает
принцип его действия и получает при измерениях
похожие, но не абсолютно идентичные результаты.
10. Hереключение режима измерения между
шкалами
Uельсия и Sаренгейта Uифровой инфракрасный
термометр ri-thermo® N имеет свойство показывать
величину температуры, как по шкале Sаренгейта, так и
по шкале Uельсия. Dля того чтобы переключиться
между этими шкалами, просто выключите прибор, а
включив его снова, в течение 5 секунд удерживайте
кнопку «Start». Nосле того, как вы отпустите эту кнопку,
на экране дисплея будет мерцать иконка,
соответствующая текущему состоянию измерительной
шкалы (°P или °F). Nереключение между °P и °F
шкалами осуществляется повторным нажатием на
кнопку «Start». Nосле того как вы переключились с
одной шкалы на другую, подождите еще 5 секунд и
прибор будет готов воспринять температуру уже в
другой системе измерения.

12. Уход и хранение
Dля чистки корпуса Qермометра
и измерительного щупа
используйте тампон или
хлопковую ткань, смоченные в
спиртовом растворе (70%-
раствор изопропилового
спирта). Lи при каких условиях
не допускайте попадания
жидкостей внутрь корпуса прибора. Lикогда не
используйте для чистки грубые абразивные агенты.
Lикогда не используйте для чистки растворители или
бензол, и никогда не погружайте прибор в воду или
другие чистящие жидкости. Особую осторожность и
бережность проявляйте при чистке поверхности FDI-
дисплея и линз щупа. Bынимайте элементы питания из
корпуса, если прибор не используется продолжительное
время. B противном случае, возможно повреждение

mente affidabili.

zione ai raggi solari, poiché ne potrebbe risulta-
re compromessa la precisione dei risultati di

5. Evitare di misurare la temperatura su oggetti
metallici, poiché si potrebbero avere risultati
imprecisi (troppo bassi).
6. L'uso improprio del termometro danneggia lo
strumento.
7. Sostituire le batterie al primo segnale di esauri-
mento, in modo da evitare misurazioni impreci-
se.
8. Il „ri-thermo® N“ non può sostituire l'esatta dia-
gnosi del medico. In caso di dubbio rivolgersi al
proprio medico.
9. Quando si misura la temperatura di liquidi e/o di
superfici, rispettare una distanza minima di 5
mm.
10.Mai usare il termometro senza coprisonda.

4. Importanti istruzioni di sicurezza

• Non usare mai il termometro per scopi diver-
si da quello per cui l’apparecchio è destinato.
Attenersi alle precauzioni generali in caso di
utilizzo con bambini.
• Per ogni misurazione utilizzare l’apparecchio
con un nuovo ed intatto copri sonda per pre-
venire infezioni. Solo i copri sonda riportanti il
marchio Microlife possono assicurare di otte-
nere una misurazione precisa usando il
modello ri-thermo® N.

Non immergere mai il termometro digitale per orec-
chio a raggi infrarossi Riester modello ri-thermo® N
nell’acqua o in altri liquidi (l’apparecchio non è
impermeabile). Per le operazioni di pulizia e disinfe-
zione seguire le istruzioni nel paragrafo "PULIZIA E
MANUTENZIONE”.
• Tenere l’apparecchio e i copri sonda protetti
dall’esposizione diretta con i raggi solari e
conservarle in un luogo non umido ed areato
ad una temperatura compresa tra i 10°C e i
40°C (50°F-104°F).
• Non usare il termometro nel caso si osservino
rotture nella sonda di misurazione o nello
strumento. Nel caso di rotture, non cercare di
riparare l’apparecchio. Contattare il customer
service Riester più vicino.
• La presenza di cerume nel canale uditivo
potrebbe essere la causa di registrazioni di
temperature basse. Assicurarsi che il canale
uditivo dl soggetto sia pulito per garantire una
misurazione precisa.
• Il Termometro digitale per orecchio a raggi
infrarossi Riester modello IR1DE1 è costituito
di parti ad alta qualità di precisione. Evitare
cadute dell’apparecchio! Proteggere il termo-
metro da forti colpi e urti. Non torcere l’appa-
recchio e neanche la sonda di misurazione.

6. Modalità di misurazione della tempera-

tura utilizzando il termometro digitale
per orecchio a raggi infrarossi Riester
Il termometro digitale per orecchio a raggi infraros-
si ri-thermo® N misura l’energia ad infrarossi radia-
ta dal timpano e dai tessuti circostanti. Questa
energia viene raccolta attraverso delle lenti e con-
vertita in un valore di temperatura. Le misurazioni
ottenute direttamente dal timpano (Membrana tim-
panica) fornisce la temperatura più precisa
dell’orecchio. Le misurazioni ottenute dai tessuti
circotanti del canale uditivo forniscono general-
mente valori più basssi e potrebbero causare un
errore nella diagnosi di febbre.

Per evitare una misurazione non precisa:
• Per prima cosa infilare sulla sonda un copri
sonda
• Dopo aver udito un segnale acustico (BEEP)
e dopo che la finestra di scala della tempera-
tura si sia illuminata, raddrizzare il canale udi-
tivo prendendo lievemente l’orecchio fra le
dita e spostandolo indietro e verso l’alto deli-
catamente.
• Posizionare fermamente la sonda nel canale
uditivo, premere il tasto di inizio misurazione e
tenere la sonda all’interno dell’orecchio fino a
che il termometro non emettere un segnale
acustico, che indica la fine misurazione.
Il ri-thermo® N e stato testato clinicamente e ha
dimostrato di misurare precisamante e di essere
sicuro se usato in accordanza con le istruzioni
dell’uso.

tilizzato copri-sonda.

5. Tirando l’orecchio inserire la

sonda in modo da farla aderi-
re al canale dell’orecchio e
premere il pulsante "START".
Rilasciarlo quando si
ode un beep. Questo è il seg-
nale che conferma la fine della misurazione.

6. Rimuovere il termometro
dal canale uditivo.
La temperatura misurata
compare sul display a cri-
stalli liquidi. OSSERVAZIONE: quando il ter-
mometro emette 10 segnali acustici brevi e
consecutivi significa che la temperatura regi-
strata supera i 37,5 °C, e quindi il soggetto
presenta febbre.

7. Sostituire il copri sonda dopo ogni misurazio-

ne. Nel fare questo, seguire le indicazioni
riportate nel capitolo 8 "Come inserire un
nuovo copri sonda”.

8. Allo scopo di assicurare letture accurate, si

prega di attendere almeno 30 secondi dopo
3-5 misurazioni continue

ALTRI APPUNTI
• Bambini piccoli si mettono sulla pancia con la
testa appoggiata in posizione laterale, nel
modo che l’orecchio è orientato in su. Per gli
adolescenti e adulti è meglio stare a lato un
po dietro del paziente.
• Misurare la temperatura sempre nello stesso
orecchio, dato che i valori della temperatura
possono variare da orecchio a orecchio.

 • Dopo aver dormito aspettare qualche minuto
prima di misurare la temperatura nell’orec-
chio.
• Viene consigliato di effettuare tre volte le
misurazioni della temperatura nello stesso
orecchio e di prenderne la più alta rilevazione
come valore definitivo nei seguenti casi:

1) Neonati nei primi 100 giorni.

2) Bambini sotto 3 anni con un sistema immuni-

tario precario dove l’esistenza o l’inesistenza
di febbre può essere determinante.

3) Se l’utente sta provando per la prima volta

l’uso giusto del ri-thermo® N termometro, fin-
ché si è familiarizzato con l’apparecchio e
riceve valori di misurazioni costanti.

10. Conversione da gradi Fahrenheit in

gradi Celsius e viceversa.

Il termometro digitale ad infrarossi Riester ri-ther-

mo® N può visualizzare la temperatura misurata sia
in gradi Fahrenheit che in gradi Celsius. Per cam-
biare la visualizzazione da °C a °F, commutare sem-
plicemente l‘apparecchio su disinserito (OFF) e pre-
mere il pulsante di avvio per la durata di 5 secondi..
Dopo questi 5 secondi rilasciare il pulsante di avvia-
mento e sul display si illumina la relativa scala di
misura (simbolo °C oppure °F). Commutare la scala
di misura tra °C e °F, premendo nuovamente sul
pulsante di avviamento. Quando si è selezionata e
tarata la scala voluta, attendere nuovamente 5
secondi fino a quando l‘apparecchio si imposta
nuovamente nel modo "pronto per la misura".

14. Sostituzione della batteria

17. Taratura
Germania:
In conformità al Regolamento sugli Utilizzatori di
Prodotti Medicali (MPBetreibV), si deve eseguire un
controllo tecnico di misurazione a intervalli di un
anno. Il controllo può essere eseguito soltanto dal
costruttore, da autorità competenti in materia di
misurazioni o da soggetti che soddisfano le condi-
zioni di cui al § 6 del MPBetreibV
Comunità Europea, Germania esclusa:
Per tutti i paesi della Comunità Europea, Germania
esclusa, si applicano le vigenti disposizioni di legge
locali.
Paesi non facenti parte della Comunità Europea:
Per tutti i paesi in cui non esistono disposizioni di
legge per il controllo tecnico delle misurazioni, si
raccomanda di controllare ogni anno la precisione
degli strumenti con funzioni di misura.

18. Requisiti CEM

Lo strumento è conforme ai requisiti di compatibilità
elettromagnetica di cui alla IEC 60601-1-2. Nelle vici-
nanze dello strumento non è consentito l’uso di tras-
mettitori ad alta frequenza, telefoni cellulari, ecc., che
ne potrebbero pregiudicare le prestazioni. Si richiede
particolare cautela durante l’impiego di forti sorgenti
d’energia, come ad esempio terminali ad alta frequen-
za o strumenti analoghi. Ugualmente non è tra l’altro
consentita la posa di cavi ad alta frequenza sullo stru-
mento o nelle sue vicinanze. In caso di dubbio si prega
di rivolgersi ad un tecnico qualificato oppure al Vostro
rappresentante locale.

Qualitätsanforderungen produziert und vor Verlassen
unseres Werkes einer eingehenden Endkontrolle unterzo-
gen.
Wir freuen uns, dass wir deshalb in der Lage sind eine
Garantie von
2 Jahren ab Kauf datum
auf alle Mängel, die nachweisbar auf Material- oder
Fabrikationsfehler zurückzuführen sind, gewähren zu
können. Ein Garantieanspruch bei unsachgemäßer
Behandlung entfällt.
Alle mangelhaften Teile des Produkts werden innerhalb
der Garantiezeit kostenlos ersetzt oder repariert.
Ausgenommen sind Verschleißsteile.
Ein Garantieanspruch kann nur dann gewährt werden,
wenn dem Produkt diese vom Händler komplett ausge-
füllte und abgestempelte Garantiekarte beigefügt wird.
Bitte beachten Sie, dass Garantieansprüche innerhalb
der Garantiezeit geltend gemacht werden müssen.
Überprüfungen oder Reparaturen nach Ablauf der
Garantiezeit nehmen wir selbstverständlich gerne gegen

 Warranty
This product has been manufactured under the strictest
quality standards and has undergone a thorough final
quality check before leaving our factory.
We are therefore pleased to be able to provide a warran-
ty of
2 years from the date of purchase
on all defects, which can verifiably be shown to be due to
material or manufacturing faults. A warranty claim does
not apply in the case of improper handling.
All defective parts of the product will be replaced or repai-
red free of charge within the warranty period. This does
not apply to wearing parts.
A warranty claim can only be granted if this Warranty
Card has been completed and stamped by the dealer
and is enclosed with the product.
Please remember that all warranty claims have to be
made during the warranty period.
We will, of course, be pleased to carry out checks or
repairs after expiry of the warranty period at a charge. You
are also welcome to request a provisional cost estimate

sur tous les vices du tensiomètre incontestablement liés à des

défauts de matériaux ou de fabrication. Votre droit à garantie expire
lors d'une utilisation inadéquate de cet appareil. Tout droit à garantie
expire dans les cas suivants: manipulation incorrecte, non-respect du
contenu du mode d’emploi, utilisation de pièces de rechange ou
d’accessoires d’autres fabricants, réparations entreprises de façon
autonome ou usure normale.
Cette garantie exclut les défauts sur le lampes!
Tous les éléments défaillants sur l’appareil seront gratuitement rem-
placés ou réparés durant la période de garantie.
Une prétention à garantie peut uniquement être faite valoir si la carte

Este producto ha sido fabricado con las máximas exigencias
de calidad, y ha sido sometido a un exhaustivo control final
antes de salir de la fábrica.
Esto nos permite ofrecerle una garantía de
2 años a partir de la fecha de com pra
por todos los fallos debidos demostrablemente a fallos de
material o de fabricación. La garantía quedará anulada en caso
de utilización indebida.
Durante el plazo de vigencia de la garantía, todos los compo-
nentes defectuosos del producto serán sustituidos o repara-
dos gratuitamente. Quedan excluidos los componentes some-
tidos a desgaste.
La garantía sólo será válida si se adjunta al producto esta tar-
jeta de garantía rellenada íntegramente y sellada por el comer-
ciante.
Tenga en cuenta que las reclamaciones por garantía deben
presentarse dentro del plazo de vigencia de la misma.

Nри этом сообщаем, что мы даем гарантию

Il presente apparecchio è stato fabbricato in osservanza a severissi-
mi requisiti di qualità, e prima di lasciare la nostra fabbrica è stato sot-
toposto ad un accurato controllo finale.
Siamo pertanto lieti di poter fornire una garanzia di
2 a nni a par tir e dalla da ta di a cquisto
relativamente a tutti i difetti dell'apparecchio che siano dimostrabil-
mente riconducibili a errori di fabbricazione. La garanzia decade in
caso di: manipolazione impropria dello strumento, mancata osser-
vanza delle istruzioni d’uso, uso di parti di ricambio o di accessori di
altra marca, in caso di modifiche o riparazioni effettuate arbitraria-
mente dall’utente e per la normale usura.
Eventuali difetti al lampadine sono esclusi dalla garanzia!
Tutte le parti difettose dell’apparecchio verranno sostituite o riparate
gratuitamente entro il periodo coperto da garanzia.
Il diritto di garanzia sussiste soltanto a condizione che all’apparecchio
venga allegata la presente Carta di garanzia compilata dal venditore
in tutte le sue parti e debitamente provvista di timbro.
