President John F. Kennedy was fatally shot in
the neck by his assassinator.

Lee Harvey Oswald
Suspected killer in the John F. Kennedy murder. Oswald was
positioned on the sixth floor of a Book Depository when he
shot three times at the motorcade killing President John F.
Kennedy. After fleeing and killing a police officer, J D. Tippit,
Oswald was arrested.
Lee Harvey Oswald was shot and killed November 24, 1963 by
Jack Ruby.
Conspiracies about the
Assassination

Conspiritists believe that Jack Ruby was a Mafia hitman ordered to


kill Lee Harvey Oswald in order to keep the planned assassination of
Kennedy from becoming known. After killing Oswald, Rudy claimed he
did it on behalf of Dallas, police and Jackie Kennedy but later testified
that he had no motive. In March 1965, he stated that no one would know
the “true facts” about his motives.

Social Security Acts of 1965

★ Medicaid
Goal: Provide coverage for
self-employed, disabled and the
poor to qualify for health
coverage. In 1966, Medicaid was
born providing funds to pay for
medical care for the poor.
Environmental Acts:
Motor Vehicle Air Pollution Act in 1965 that was designed to control air
pollution caused by automobiles. Legislation mandated America needed
higher standards in emission controls to help with the pollution problem. The
big cities affected were New York and California.

ratified on January 1965 and it
stopped poll tax from all
federal elections in the U. S.
Social Acts:
Voting Rights Act of 1965 significantly
improved African American participation in
America’s political process (especially in the
South)
Civil Rights Act of 1964 banned discrimination in public accommodations
and stopped programs from getting federal funding if they supported
racial segregation. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission also
helped stop discrimination in the employment and the workplace.
