Proposal

I enjoy reading but it takes a lot of searching to find a book and genuinely enjoy it. My group has
come together to create an idea on helping those who wish to find a great book they will enjoy. It will
involve the thoughts, ideas, and opinions of others to help those chose if the book is right for them.
Creating this, I believe it will encourage students to find a book they will read and hopefully enjoy.
Our project is going to be a board located in the library used to help those struggling to find a
good book. It will have multiple genres of books suggesting which ones recommended to read in that
month. Along with the recommendations, it will have include reviews on the books as well. Starting this
project we will start by talking to the library staff getting their opinions on it and getting it approved by
them. If approved, we will begin buying the items that will be necessary for our board. The cost of it all is
believed to be around $20. We will use a cork board to apply the suggestions and accents to bring the
board together and look well put. It will include laminated names of genres, months, and days of the week
to make it easy to understand. It will be very easy to apply and remove with velcro that will be applied.
To promote our project we plan to print a few papers to apply around the school, and have the librarians
mention it students as well. One of the issues that we believe may occur is that students may not be
involved with apply reviews and such.
To have the students more involved, we want to print small papers with questions regarding the
suggested book of the month. After the paper is filled out, it will be placed on the board under the
category it belongs in.
We hope this project promotes reading, excites fellow readers, and encourages other to be
involved with the library community and reading. We also hope this project continues on even after we
graduate by the help of the librarians and other students.
