Digital Repeater Software

Overview
This document defines the process used to configure digital repeater with PC/Laptop and also
functionality of digital repeater software used to change the frequency, bandwidth and attenuation like
parameters. The purpose of this document is to guide you how to install and use this software. The
changes made to this new software are as follows
1. Mute option added to to mute individual sub band.
2. Individual band alarm can be viewed from GUI.

Configuration of PC/Laptop for Interfacing with Repeater


Before connecting the PC/Laptop with repeater, the PC/Laptop should be correctly configured for
successfully interfacing with the repeater.
The steps below give a generic idea towards PC/Laptop configuration.
1. The PC\Laptop should have the required FTDI drivers installed.
2. Installation of Vedang Digital Repeater GUI Software for repeater Configuration.

1. Installation of FTDI drivers.


These drivers are provided with repeaters or can be downloaded from the internet.
http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm.

Steps for installation of Drivers.


Step 1: Run the file named "CDM v2.08.30 WHQL Certified" and exactract the files then choose yes
on the next window as shown in the figure.
Step 2: Then click on next as indicated.

Step 3: After clicking next drivers start installing after that click finish to complete installation.
2. Installation of Software for repeater Configuration
The steps for Installation of Repeater Software are as follows:
Step 1: On opening the folder containing the repeater sofware, there will be a file called setup. Double
click on that file to start setup.

Step 2: A window will appear click on next to start setup and then click install on the next
window as shown below.
Step 3: After clicking install then choose yes installation process starts when you choose yes
then click finish to complete the process.
Steps for Using Repeater Software
Step 1: Double Click on the icon to launch.

Select the com port to which your repeater is connected via USB cable and click OK. If correct port is

Step 2: Click on “Get Current Status” to retrieve the current information of the repeater:

Step 3: Click on “Change Status” to make changes to the current status:
To view or Change values related to the band switch to the respective tab.
To view Up Link frequency or Channel no. select the respective option from top of the window.
To disable sub band select the Mute option from the first column.
Alarms for each band will be shown on the respective band tab.
Note:
1. Band 1 is GSM 900, Band 2 is DCS 1800, Band 3 is UMTS 2100, Band 4 is LTE 2300, Band 5
is CDMA 800.
2. User Can Only Access Downlink Bandwidth (Uplink Bandwidth Of Any Sub Band Is Same As
Downlink Bandwidth).
3. Do Not Over Lap Start Or Stop Frequency Of Two Sub Bands.
4. Attenuation Range is 0-30 dB and attenuation can be different for different sub bands.
5. Mute is separate for Uplink and Downlink.
After making Required Changes Click on "Save all" to save all the parameters. If you have changed
only frequency, attenuation or power then click on the respective buttons "Save Frequency", "Save
Attenuation" and "Save Power".
The changed information will be saved in repeater and a message box will pop out when it is
successfully saved.
Note: It Will Tack 2 Minutes to Reflect Saved Valued In Digital Repeater
