 About Us
Fetch Winona is here to provide dogs with a safe and fun environment to stay-in for daycare and/or
boarding. All Fetch employees receive training on effective, humane ways for handling dogs, and
are hired for their love and respect of animals. We strive to provide the highest quality of care and
supplies for dogs during their stay, and peace-of-mind for dogs’ guardians that their dogs are being
well cared for and kept safe while in our care.
 Daycare
Our daycare provides your fur-baby with a safe, fun, and stimulating social environment while you
are away. We offer customized play groups to fit your dog’s play style. Play groups are continuously
supervised in climate-controlled indoor play yards and Astroturf outdoor yards. To ensure the safety
and health of your dog and of our guests, we require all guests to comply with the following.
Your dog must:
• be 12 weeks or older;
• be spayed/neutered after 9 months of age;
• be up to date on all the required vaccinations (DHLPP, Bordetella, Rabies);
• be on a monthly flea/tick treatment;
• have a yearly IPE (Intestinal Parasite Examination);
• go through our evaluation process.
• must sign a waiver before starting the session

Evaluation Process
This 4-part process takes place during your dog’s first visit with us to ensure a stress-free introduction to
daycare.
The four parts of the process are:
• Dog-to-Staff: We want your dog to feel safe and comfortable with our staff.
• Dog-to-Kennel: We run all-day daycare, but offer breaks to any dog that may need it.
For this reason, we need to be sure your dog can be in our kennels safely.
• Dog-to-Dog through a fence: This introduces the dogs to each other without invading
either dog’s space. This also helps us as staff to see the first reactions from each dog to
one another.
• Dog-to-Dog in a yard: This allows the staff to see how your dog plays. There are multiple
people in the yard during this to ensure both dogs are safe.

We prefer to do evaluations in the morning, with drop-off between 7:00am and 8:00am, and have
them stay for only a half day, or less than 6 hours. This is because meeting new friends and being in a
new environment can be stressful, but a full day evaluation is an option as well.

 Boarding
This is our overnight service, which is perfect for any day of the week that you won’t be home, but
don’t want to leave your pups all alone. To ensure the safety and health of your dog and of our
guests, we require guests to comply with the same requirements as daycare.

When boarding, your dog will:

• be taken outside every 3 hours for a minimum of 15 minutes with a staff member;
• have a personalized storage bin for your dog’s belongings;
• have stainless steel water and food dishes;
• be correctly administered any special feeding instructions and/or medications.

Any personal items you would like to place in the kennel with your dog are more than welcome as
long as they are safe to have while your dog is unattended. We also have additional services to
upgrade your dog’s stay.

 Training

AKC STAR (Socialization, Training, Activity, Responsibility) Puppy Class: $120.00 This is a 6-week class
with 1-hour long sessions each week. Puppies eligible for this class must be between the ages of 8
weeks and 1 year.
The following will be discussed and learned:
Owner Behaviors
• Maintaining your puppy’s health (i.e. vaccines, exams, appears healthy);
• You receive Responsible Dog Owner’s Pledge;
• You describe adequate daily play and exercise plan;
• You and your puppy attend at least 6 classes by an AKC approved CGC Evaluator;
• You bring bags to classes clean up after your puppy;
• You have obtained some form of ID for puppy-collar tag by second night of class.
Puppy Behaviors
• Free of aggression toward people during at least 6 weeks of class;
• Free of aggression toward other puppies in class;
• Tolerates collar or body harness of owner’s choice;
• You can hug or hold your puppy (depending on size);
• Puppy allows you to take away a treat or toy;
• Allows (in any position) petting by a person other than you;
• Grooming: allows you handling them and a brief exam (ears, feet);
• Walks on a leader and follows you on leader in a straight line (15 steps);
• Walks by other people and walks on leader past other people 5 ft away;
• Sit on command;
• Down on command;
• Comes to owner from 5 ft away when name is called;
• Reaction to distractions;
• Stay on leader with another person (you walk 10 steps away and return).

Basic Manners: $120.00 This is a 6-week course, 1-hour long class each week. Dogs eligible for class
must be 1 year and older. There are 3 different levels of this class.

• Beginner: This class focuses on loose leash walking, recall, “leave it,” positions (sit, down,
stand), hand targeting, mat work, and stay.
• Intermediate: Our Intermediate Obedience Class will strengthen the basic skills you
already know by creating the commands to be stable and dependable. You and your
dog will learn how to work through distractions like loud sounds, other dogs, and food
distractions. You and your dog will continue to work on loose leash walking, “leave it,”
stay/wait and recalls but with added levels of distractions.
• Advanced: This class will polish your dog’s basic manners to a shine, building an even
higher level of focus and responsiveness to your request. We’ll also work on reducing
reliance on food reinforcements, and advanced attention around significant
distractions. Add to that cues at a distance and transitioning to responsiveness off-
leash, and you’ve got a dog you can rely on anywhere in any situation!
 Training Cont.
AKC Canine Good Citizen: $120.00 6-week course, 1-hour long class each week. The CGC Program is
designed to reward dogs who have good manners at home and in the community. The CGC
Program is a two-part program that stresses responsible pet ownership for owners and basic good
manners for dogs. All dogs who pass the 10-step CGC test may receive a certificate from the
American Kennel Club. According to the AKC, both purebred and mixed breed dogs are welcome
and there is no age requirement to participate in the class. It is highly encouraged that your dog has
completed a basic manners class prior to the CGC class.

10-Step CGC Test Criteria

• Accepting a friendly stranger;
• Sitting politely for petting;
• Appearance and grooming (the dog must appear in healthy condition);
• Out for a walk (walking on a loose leash);
• Walking through a crowd;
• Sit and down on command and staying in place coming when called;
• Reaction to another dog;
• Reaction to distraction;
• Supervised separation.

AKC Community Canine: $120.00 6-Week course, 1-hour long class each week. The AKC’s ……………
Community Canine class is the advanced level of the AKC’s Canine Good Citizen program. Dogs
who pass the AKC Community Canine test earn the official AKC Community Canine title that is
designated by the letters CGCA (Advanced CGC) on the dog’s title record.
There is no age limit for dogs taking the AKC Community Canine test. However, before taking the
test, dogs must have a Canine Good Citizen test on record at AKC. AKC Community Canine has a
10-step test of skills that dogs must pass to earn the official AKC Community Canine title.

10-Step CGCA Test Criteria

• Dog stands, sits or lies down and waits under control while the owner:
a. Sits at the registration table and fills out paperwork;
b. If the test is done in the community, dog waits while the owner sits and has a snack
or visits with another person;
• Walks on a loose leash in a natural situation and does not pull;
• Walks on a loose leash through a crowd;
• Dog walks past distraction and does not pull;
• Sit and stay in a small group of other people and dogs;
• Dog allows person who is carrying something to approach and pet it;
• Dog walks by food and follows owner’s instructions to “leave it;”
• Down or sit stay while owner is 20 ft away;
• Recall with distractions.

Loose Leash Walking Course: $65.00 3-Week Course, 1-hour long class each week. Dogs eligible must
be 1 year of age and older. Contrary to popular belief, dogs that pull on the leash while being
walked do not want to be pack leader, top dog, alpha, or dominant over their human. There is a
much simpler explanation: dogs love to be outside, and the walk is a stimulating and exciting part of
their day, so the desire to push ahead is very strong. That being said, all dogs should be taught how
to walk on the leash in a positive way without being jerked, yanked, choked, or shocked, so that
walks can be enjoyable for everyone.
 Training Cont.
Tricks Class: $65.00 3-week course, 1-hour long class each week. Break through boredom with your
dog and challenge them to learn some fun party tricks.

Drop in Class: $20.00 per class OR The Package Deal: Purchase 5 classes at once for only $89! No
prior registration required, just show up and learn!

• Obedience Class: Basic Training is the start of a well-trained dog. Using different
methods such as clicker-training or positive reinforcement, basic commands like “sit,”
“down,” and “come” are taught in addition to skill development in loose leash walking,
release, impulse control, going to a mat or place, body handling, and handler focus.
Along with Basic Training, this class includes dogs learning to look at you when faced
with distractions, to walk by other dogs while on leash, impulse control, and more. This
class will help your dog develop skills to behave politely in the outside world as well as
reinforce great manners in your home. All experience levels and breeds are welcome
and encouraged to attend.
• Scent Work Class: Scent Tracking is a technique in which dogs are trained to locate
certain objects by using their scent. This fun activity is great for dogs and owners, or
handlers, it is a time in which handlers take the back seat, letting their dog do what
comes naturally to them. Handlers will develop skills to lay a simple track for their own
and other students’ dogs. The dogs will learn to put their nose to the ground to follow a
scent, then follow that scent when it changes direction. The handlers will learn how to
better read and understand their dog’s behavior and the “art” of mapping the track
they lay. All experience levels and breeds are welcome and encouraged to attend,
though some obedience is recommended.
• Foundation Agility Class: Foundation Agility is the right place to start building a working
relationship with your canine companion. A strong foundation in self-control, mutual
trust, self-confidence and fun is a MUST for success in agility. In Foundation Agility,
handler and dog will perfect stays and recalls, learn to move together, and gain
confidence working at a distance. In each class we will experience some of the
excitement of an obstacle course consisting of hoops, teeter-totters, weaving, and
tunnels. Whether it be for a new exciting activity or a competitive drive, this class is right
for you! All experience and breeds are welcome and encouraged to attend, though
some obedience is recommended.

Seminars: Seminars are one-time classes with one of our trainers where you will learn tips and tricks for
training! Seminars are for owners only, no dogs! Seminar availability varies.

 Rent-A-Yard

Rent our indoor or outdoor yards to play with your pup off leash in a dog-friendly environment! To
ensure the safety and health of your dog and of our guests, we require that all guests comply with
the following:
• Book a reservation, which is charged in half-hour increments
• Dogs must be up to date on all shots (DHLPP, Rabies, Bordetella)
• Owners must be with dogs at all times
• Owners are responsible for clean up after their dog
• Must sign a waiver before starting the session

Security Protocol
To enhance our security measures for the safety of your pet(s), every dog is assigned a personalized
code for pick-up. When you or a loved one comes to pick up your pet at the end of their fun day of
play, simply give your dog’s name and their code. This security protocol is to ensure that none of our
furry friends go home with unfamiliar faces.
