 Major roles: On-stream inspection of process piping, equipment inspection on-stream & off-stream, tank
inspection, review of corrosion control materials and coating inspection.
April ’18 – November ‘18: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd., Mangalore, India
 Position: Inspection & Corrosion Engineer.
 Major roles: On-stream inspection of process piping, equipment inspection during shutdown,
implementation of new process schemes, performed piping fitness for service inspection of crude
distillation column, tank inspection, review of corrosion control materials and coating inspection.

KEYWORK FUNCTIONS

Responsibility undertaken as Inspection & Corrosion Engineer:


 Inspection of all major static equipment like pressure vessels, heat exchangers, columns, reactors, tanks
and piping systems to ensure their mechanical integrity.
 Preparing failure analysis reports for piping & equipment breakdowns based on operating histories,
mechanical testing, metallographic studies & material identification and provide remedial measures.
 Hands-on experience of Non-destructive Testing methods like RT, UT, DPT and MPT.
 Inspection, testing and certification of pressure safety valves.
 Active participation in shutdowns to perform detailed inspection, assess equipment condition and provide
recommendations based on code and procedural requirements to ensure asset integrity and reliability.
 Carry out proactive inspection based on statutory requirements and company policies ensure the integrity
of plant assets by field rounds and action follow up.
 Provision of weld repair procedures, ensure quality control and keep a watch on welding processes,
electrodes, adherence to welding parameters, welder numbers and qualification records.
 Categorization and review of inspection frequencies based on Risk Based Inspection.
 Advise on new equipment design and correct selection of materials, repairs and modifications on existing
equipment to ensure safety, integrity and longevity of existing as well as new assets.
 On-stream inspection like tube skin temperature measurement of Reformer tubes in HGU, infrared thermal
imaging of Reactor, Regenerator and connected piping in PFCCU.
 Contributing in implementation of Meridium asset performance management software and preparing for
implementation of RBI in near future.

Responsibility undertaken as Project Inspector:


 Provide Quality Assurance for Capital Projects to ensure contractor's quality personnel and processes are
effective, and that new facilities are constructed in compliance with applicable Company and Industry
engineering standards, and Company policies and procedures.
 Provide QA services in all facets of the Company's Supplier Qualification and Material and Equipment
acquisition.
 Provide QA and/or QC services throughout the various phases of the project, i.e., proposal, design,
procurement, fabrication, and construction. This is accomplished through direct inspection, monitoring
and quality assessments as required.
 Perform regular informal assessments of selected elements/processes of the Contractor Quality System.
 Highlights potential non-conforming materials, products or work through the Quality Management System
to avoid re-work.
 Reporting in a timely manner any quality or technical violations through NCR.
 Monitoring on-going construction activities, the level of inspection coverage was in direct relation to the
effectiveness of the Contractor's quality system and their ability to provide acceptable quality.
