NARRATOR: It was Christmas time in London. There was a man named Ebenezer
Scrooge. He was a hard worker man, but at the same time he was a miserable, greedy,
cruel, and stingy person, who didn`t know what generosity meant. A day before
Christmas, Scrooge receives a call from Fred his nephew, Scrooge as always, was
counting his money, while his employee Bob Crachit were counting the minutes to go
home to his family.
FRED: Hello, uncle Scrooge, Its Fred you know Christmas`s tomorrow, I want to invite
you for dinner in my house.
SCROOGE: Why should I have to go? It gives me money? Such a lost of time.
FRED: Uncle, please It`s just a day, my wife wants to meet you.
SCROOGE: I`m so sorry nephew, I have better things to do. Sleep.
FRED: Please uncle, It`s just for dinner.
SCROOGE: I`m so sorry nephew, let me alone.
FRED: Sorry for the call uncle, Merry Christmas.
SCROOGE: (tono sarcastico) Merry Christmas, Nephew.
SCROOGE: Young people don`t know the difference between earn money and lost time
poor young people, poor all of them.
NARRATOR: After a few hours at work, Scrooge closed his account books and proceeded
to close the office. When he got home he climbed the steps to his bedroom, sat in a chair
beside the fire and started to eat his supper. Suddenly he heard old bells ringing, and a
strange and loud noise coming from the outside.

SCROOGE: Who`s there!! I must have fallen asleep!


JACOB MARLEY: (deeply voice) Hello Scrooge.
SCROOGE: (gira la cabeza) Wadafaq ¿ Who are you?
JACOB MARLEY: (deeply voice) ¿Don’t you remember me?
SCROOGE: No, ¿Who are you?
JACOB MARLEY: recognize me, I`m you future.
SCROOGE: Wait a minute, Marley!! ¿Are you real?
JACOB MARLEY: I was real Remember, I`m dead.
SCROOGE: Seven years ago, you were the best business partner.
JACOB MARLEY: I was, yeah, I was the perfect in my job, but now I`m dead, it`s not
important now.` I don`t have nothing from my money.
SCROOGE: I`m rich now , I don`t need more than that.
JACOB MARLEY: Believe me… You need more than that, these chains are too heavy for
some reason, and now you have more than me.. Just wait to be death.
SCROOGE: ¿What are you talking about?
JACOB MARLEY: This is you last opportunity to change Ebenezer Scrooge, I was proud
of my acts until my dead.
SCROOGE: ¿What happened?
JACOB MARLEY: The pain of my punishment.
SCROOGE: ¿For what?
JACOB MARLEY: For our job.
SCROOGE: We only need money!
JACOB MARLEY: From the poor people, we stole them.
SCROOGE: So? They have to pay.
JACOB MARLEY: Well.. Scrooge, look at me (show the chains ), I came here for warm
you about what`s going to happen tonight.
SCROOGE: ¿What`s going to happen?
JACOB MARLEY: 3 ghosts are coming to give you a lesson , I can`t do any more than
that.
SCROOGE: ¿What are you talking about?
JACOB MARLEY: they`re come I can`t be here, I`m just going to say… Past Present and
Future.

SCROOGE: I`m crazy… I`m seen things (de vuelta a la cama)


NARRATOR: Then the ghost left the room floating through the window. Scrooge
closed the window and went to bed shaking in fear, and fell asleep, suddenly, Scrooge
saw a strange creature beside his bed.
FIRST GHOST: Hey you , wake up!!
SCROOGE: ¿What`s going on? ¿Who`s there? (gira alrededor)
FIRST GHOST: I`m the ghost of the Christmas past, get out of bed and come with me,
you`ll see.
NARRATOR: the spirit took Scrooge through time to a small village, then they arrived to
a house
SCROOGE: This house seems familiar. Oh, this is my house, where I grew up.
FIRST GHOST: Yes, it is. And do you recognize that little boy sitting alone reading?.
SCROOGE: It`s me, as a child. But. .why am I… why is he alone?.
FIRST GHOST: You must know the answer.
SCROOGE: Because my parents were working, that is why I was always alone. That is
why my Christmas were so sad and lonely.
FIRST GHOST: Come, take my hand, we don`t have enough time.
SCROOGE: No, I have seen enough, go away!. Don`t torture me!.
FIRST GHOST: Don`t blame me, I told you these were shadows of the things that have
been.
SCROOGE: take me back
FIRST GHOST: Come on, I only show the past, what it promised you. Look. You must
remember your childhood, your family, although you were poor you were happy,
money doesn`t bring happiness … keep that on mind .
SCROOGE: Stop it!. Take me home!

NARRATOR: And Scrooge appeared in his own bedroom. A light comes on. Scrooge
becomes aware of it and goes slowly to it. He sees the second spirit, the Spirit of
Christmas Present.

SCROOGE: Thank goodness, it was a dream.


SECOND GHOST: No, Ebenezer. It wasn’t a dream.
SCROOGE: I suppose you are.
SCROOGE: Yes, I am. I am the Ghost of Christmas Present. I have much to show you.
Grab onto my robe. Hurry!. We cannot be late.
NARRATOR: Scrooge touched the hem of the spirit’s robe. The bedroom vanished,
and Scrooge found himself on a busy, snowy street. There were many people
shopping for last minute gifts, the stores were still open, people were cooking their
best meals, and the bells from the church were striking, everybody was attending
church wearing their best clothes. Everybody was happy

SCROOGE: Everybody looks so happy..


SECOND GHOST: Yes, they are. It’s Christmas. What did you expect?.
SCROOGE: Do you mean that they all are happy just because it´s December 25?.
SECOND GHOST: Y Yes. Today they can forget their problems, and just enjoy being with
their families. They just enjoy the food on their tables, and the many blessings they
receive..

NARRATOR: Then the Ghost took Scrooge to Bob Crachit´s house. And standing there
at the door, the Ghost proceeded to bless the house. Then Scrooge saw Bob Crachit
playing with his children, three boys and two girls.
SCROOGE: Is this where Crachit lives?.
SECOND GHOST: Of course, with his salary, this is all he can afford.
NARRATOR: Then Mrs. Crachit entered into the dining room carrying a small turkey on
a platter.
SCROOGE: They look so poor!. Their clothes are so old.
SECOND GHOST: Love is what you can feel here.
SCROOGE: What’s wrong with Crachit`s son?. Why doesn’t he walk?.
SECOND GHOST: He’s very sick. His name is Tiny Tim, and his parents don’t have
money for a doctor, so maybe he will die.
SCROOGE: Die?. But there must be something that can be done. Please, tell me if he
will die.
SECOND GHOST: I see an empty chair in the corner, if the future is not changed, he will
certainly die.
SCROOGE: No!. No!.
SECOND GHOST: What do you care, anyway?. That will diminish the world population,
this`s the future you `ll have , unless the future changes.
NARRATOR: At that moment Scrooge realized that those were his own words, and felt
sorry for himself. Then he heard his name., the family wished Scrooge a merry
Christmas and enjoy it, The Ghost took Scrooge through different places so he could
see how people celebrated Christmas. They visited many countries, and a lot of people
It was a long night. And everything happened in just one night. Then, the Ghost of
Christmas Present was gone.
SCROOGE: Oh, I am in my own bed again
THIRD GHOST: Ebenenzer I am the Ghost of Christmas Future

NARRATOR: The Ghost took his hand The Ghost started walking and Scrooge followed
him down the street. Then they arrived to a tiny house. took Scrooge into the
bedroom. There was Mr. Bob Crachit sitting beside his son`s bed. He was very sick.

THIRD GHOST: for your faults, Tim, the little child has gone to death.
SCROOGE: No!. No!. Why !
THIRD GHOST: Why?? You… you are such a bad person a selfish man
SCROOGE: No!.
THIRD GHOST: soon.. you are going to die, alone , without money, nothing
SCROOGE: No!.
THIRD GHOST: nobody are going to remember you… never.
SCROOGE: No!.
THIRD GHOST: all of them will be very happy for your death.
SCROOGE: No!.
THIRD GHOST: nobody will visit your tomb.
SCROOGE give me and opportunity, please!!
THIRD GHOST: we `ve given you a lot of opportunities
SCROOGE: please!.
THIRD GHOST: you will never change Ebenezer.
SCROOGE please. I don’t want to die!!
THIRD GHOST: I`m so sorry.. It`s too late to change the past.
SCROOGE: I don’t want to die!!

NARRATOR: Suddenly, Scrooge woke up in his bed, crying, he`ve been given another
chance to help poor people and anyone who needs some help, brings happiness .
