Lesson Plan: The Geography of Israel
Objective
This week the student will learn and explore the country Israel. The lesson will
begin with a short power point on the location of Israel. Then a fill in map will be given to
the students that we will fill in as a class. Then the students will color the map with the
correct colors.
Materials and Equipment
Teacher will provide: Power point, Maps, And Map key
Students will provide: Pencil and Colored Pencils
Instruction
Begin the lesson with the world make power point, Then Hand out the maps and
begin labeling major cities rivers, shores/oceans, and mountains. Then have the
students fill in the maps with color
Closure
All students will present their maps and introduce one geographic feature of
Israel
Evaluation
Students will be assessed by filling in their own map with a word bank.
Students will learn

Maps and globes are geographic representations that can be used to understand spatial
organization and location

Student will know

 How to use elements, such as title, compass rose, legend/key, date and author to
interpret maps and globes.
o Students will be able to label a map of Israel.
