Personal Reaction

 Both groups present their reports well, their PowerPoint presentation were

properly constructed, it is short but still informative. Some reporters reads

only the power point that they made and doesn’t explain the topic, it’s a good

thing that their power point presentation tell all or give all the information

that I need.

II. Significant of the studies/issues and concern

 The report of both group gave us information and knowledge, However there

are some key points or important information/parts that drew out my

curiosity. For group 3, it is about the Geometric Alignment and Design of

Highway which the different types of terrain that we encounter and

considering the design of the roads and highway. For group 4, it is about

Materials in Rigid Pavements which providing a structural cement concrete

slab of sufficient strength to resist the loads from traffic. This is how I

understand the topic, this is the most important why and how highway is

designed.
III. Problems

 Traffic Analysis - How to develop traffic analysis & what can we do

to it?

 Traffic Incident - What are the most common problem/cases in

traffic incident?

 Delayed Maintenance of Highways - Does the government or

authorities have an alternative solution with the delay of the

repairing of highways

IV. Objectives

 To determine if the people can handle traffic incident in metro

manila.

 To aware the people about the situation in our country.

 To allocate traffic rules and regulations.

V. Time Context

 January 19 and February 02, 2019 (reporting day of the first and second

group) - Forecasting traffic, Traffic demand and analysis, modeling, trip

distribution, appraisal of highways, Cost benefit analysis, Payback analysis,

NATA approach to appraisal Environmental appraisal. Traffic Analysis,

Highway traffic analysis, speed flow and density, highway capacity,

forecasting urban and rural roads.

VI. View Point

 Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH)

 Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA)

 Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC)

VII. Course of Consideration

 The implementation of traffic rules and regulations that are not done

by the Government officials.

 There’s should be highest speed at which vehicle can travel each

day.
 The length of the road ahead that can been seen by the user of the

roadway.

VIII. Alternative Course of Action

 Government should prioritized traffic issue.

 Advancement of transportation system.

 Strict implementation of traffic policies.

IX. Action Plan

TIME FRAME ACTIVITIES /TRAINING CONDUCTED BY:

2 weeks Conduction of Seminars, DPWH, MMDA, DOTC,

Analyzation, Forecasting

1-3 months Training Programs, Planning DPWH, MMDA, DOTC

1-6 months Plan of Action, Operations DPWH, MMDA, DOTC

and Maintenance
X. Recommendation

First, awareness of traffic rules and regulation must be considered as a

responsibility by all citizens. Second, the government should thoroughly

plan every construction projects to avoid road disturbance especially rush

hours. Lastly, strict rules and regulation should be implemented to practice

the discipline traffic manners.

XI. Conclusion

I therefore conclude that if people are disciplined enough to manage traffic

there won’t be congestion in the public road and more productivity on

personal matter.
