Course Title: Educational Planning and Curriculum


Development
Course credit: 3 units
Contact hours: 3 hours per week

Course Description:
This course is designed to introduce the graduate
students the knowledge on educational planning and
curriculum development. It covers the general idea/ knowledge
on planning, implementing and evaluating a curriculum for
decision making among curriculum makers and stakeholders
whether to change or modify an existing one to address the
needs of the learners who are the primary bases in crafting a
curriculum.

Course objectives:
At the end of the course, the students are able to:
1. Gain understanding on the nature and purposes of
educational planning and curriculum development.
2. Acquire basic knowledge on how to prepare educational
plans and how to develop an effective curriculum
3. Analyze problems confronting educational planning and
curriculum development
4. Develop insights and approaches in educational planning
and curriculum development.
5. Discuss the importance of a well-planned curriculum to
ensure effective implementation
6. Apply approaches and principles learned in the
development of a curriculum
7. Determine what curriculum designs will suit the Filipino
learners.
8. Make researches addressing the problems that confront
the curriculum development in the Phil.
