1. How did the objective help focus your instruction?

My objective was for students to be able to paraphrase better, so I made instruction
completely based around those skills. Thus, my focus was based around those paraphrasing
skills.

2. What parts of the instructional plan worked as you anticipated? Explain.

The students really liked the ability to use social media to slam on a book character,
where no one gets hurt.

3. How well did you anticipate materials needed?

I just needed a microphone and that’s what I had. So I anticipated fine.

4. What, if any, adjustments were needed once you began?

I taught this lesson to three classes so I needed to adjust based on the needs of classes.
Some classes need more intensive focus where I need to make sure they are on task, but
others needed little additional help.

5. How effective was the assessment you chose to use?

I chose an assessment based on feedback from my cooperating teacher and she said
that the work had greatly improved from last year. This may not have been the most effective
testing method, but I did not want to base my results on a test for an assignment like this

6. What evidence do you have that the lesson was a success?

The kids had a lot of fun and their paraphrasing was improved after we discussed and
worked on it.

7. How did the time you spent preparing your lesson contribute to your success?
Self-Evaluation of Lesson Taught

I spent a decent amount of time creating this assignment, I did not spend too much time,
but I also did not just wing it. It was largely contributing to my success.

8. If you could do this lesson again with the same students, would you do anything
differently? If so, what?
I would have wanted to be a bit more specific on the appropriate possibilities. Some
students took large liberties and had a bit too much fun, where their assignments were largely
inappropriate.
