School Messenger
Typically, when school is closed or on a two hour delay due to weather/roads you will
receive two types of communication from school - email and a phone call. The emails and
phone numbers in the system will be those that were submitted on the School Messenger
forms at the beginning of the school year or updates you have shared since the start of
school.
Please note that although you will normally receive information from school, we will also continue follow EVSC
for school closing or delay information. Most often "Evansville Catholic Schools" will also be listed with
EVSC. You may tune in to most local TV and radio stations to see such information as soon as it is available.
Note from Mrs. Lyons: Everyone did such a wonderful job in our program this
year. Thank you all for working so hard to put on another great performance!
Applications are now being accepted for the 2018-19 school year. A tuition deposit
of $100 and copy of the student's birth certificate should accompany the application
form. Academic information is already on file from our feeder schools.
Incoming freshmen and parents are required to attend one of the Registration
Meetings scheduled in January. The meetings will be Wednesday, January 24 and
Wednesday, January 31, from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in the Kempf Auditorium at Mater Dei. Admissions applications
should be on file prior to the registration meetings.
Tuition assistance applicants will be reviewed for the school choice voucher program, the tax credit scholarship
(SGO) and Catholic Education Foundation grants. Priority deadline is March 1, 2018. Applications received
after that date will be considered as long as funds are available. Please contact Lou Ann Gilbert at 426-2258
ext.322 or email lagilbert@evdio.org with any questions regarding enrollment or tuition assistance.

ST PHILIP AREA GIRLS SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION
January 8, 2018
Dear Parents,
St Philip Girls Softball Association provides a softball league for girls through the Evansville
Rural Girls Softball League. Games are played at Marrs Township Community Park located just
south of the Lloyd Expressway on West Franklin Road.
Our Board Members are: President Mike Weber; Vice President Tina Phillips; Secretary
Shannon Hile; and Treasurer Tim Jones. We also have many very involved parents who help
maintain our fields and concession stands to provide a clean and fun environment for the girls.
The cost is $110 per player. This includes the fee to play in the RGSL AND uniform. Other area
organizations may charge a lower fee to register, however, additional uniform fees, mandatory
fundraisers, and a requirement to work in a Fall Festival Booth (or pay a fee), are required
which results in a higher overall fee than ours.
Sign-ups for all ages will take place on Sunday, February 4th and Sunday, February 11th from
9:00am to 12:00pm each day in the St Philip Gym located at 3420 St Philip Rd S, Mount Vernon,
IN 47620. U8 is for 6–8 year old girls; U10 is for 9-10 year old girls; and U12 is for 11-12 year
old girls (age as of December 31, 2017).
Please contact Tina Phillips (812)449-0853 or ttphillips98@sbcglobal.net with questions, or if
you can’t make the above dates.
We look forward to seeing you at sign-ups!

Vocational Rehabilitation –A representative will describe the quality individualized services they offer to
enhance and support your child to prepare for and obtain employment opportunities. This agency may
also assist with some educational expenses
Bureau of Developmental Disability Services (BDDS) - BDDS provides services for individuals with
developmental disabilities that enable them to live as independently as possible in their communities.
BDDS will assist individuals to receive community support. A person-centered plan is implemented to
determine what services are needed and what agency can best provide them.
• Counseling Services
• Open House with colleges that offer resource assistance
• Panel of Junior High and High School Resource Teachers
Although most of these meetings are geared to grades 6-12, it is never too early to start gathering this
information! No matter what path your child chooses after high school (college, vocational training,
work force) these meetings will provide information to prepare you and him/her for that transition.
I can be reached at meoparents@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments. Let me know if
you have suggestions for future programs, and please email me if you plan to attend on January 10th.
Thanks!
