EFIT INSTRUCTIONS (HOW TO USE THE TOOL DURING AN EXAM)

Ensure that your environment meets the EFIT requirements. How to prepare personal computer for the EFIT, read
APPENDIX.

You can use either EFIT Wi-Fi (preferable method) or Cisco AnyConnect to connect to the secured environment of EFIT.

EFIT WIFI Method Cisco AnyConnect method


1. Connect to Wi-Fi network EFIT, 1a Start Cisco AnyConnect client:
with password 912@whkp

TIP: Uncheck “Connect automatically” option to avoid


connection issues after an exam.

1b In the address box fill in the address: efit.fhict.nl

1c In the next window, login with your iAccount

2. Now start the EFIT client. (If you do not have such, download it from https://efit.fhict.nl)
IMPORTANT: To run EFIT, you must use Java JRE or JDK 1.8 (version 8)
3. The following fields must be filled:
 Exam code: Code given by examiner
 i+PCN: iAccount
 Password: same as in fhict.fontys.nl

4. If login is successful, you will see a new window with legal notes.
5. Please read it carefully before you agree with legal conditions. Click Agree, to star the exam.
6. If exam is started, click Download button to download exam assignment. The following folders will appear in
your desktop folder (path: C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Desktop):
 You will find exam assignment in Exam_Start folder.
 IMPORTANT: Make sure at the finish, everything that needs to be
handed in must be in the Exam_HandIn folder.

7. When you want to finish the exam, Click Finish and the system will upload whatever you have in the folder
Exam_Handin.
APPENDIX

PREREQUISITES FOR EFIT:


1. Java JRE or JDK 1.8 version
 Check if you already have JRE installed in your system, by running EFIT_*.jar file. If the login window
appears, it works. Most laptops have it already installed. Else, see next step.
 Download and install Java JRE or JDK 1.8 (version 8) from:
https://www.java.com/en/download/
2. Cisco AnyConnect VPN client
If you do not have it yet, download and install AnyConnect client.
 Go to the https://efit.fhict.nl.
 Login with your personal iAccount credentials.
 Follow the AnyConnect wizard to complete its installation.

POSSIBLE PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS


Cisco AnyConnect: cannot modify VPN address

1. Ensure that Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client is closed completely (check in taskbar).
2. Delete “profile” folder from:

(For Windows) c:\ProgramData\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client\

(For OSX and Linux) /opt/cisco/anyconnect/

3. Start Cisco AnyConnect Client and modify the VPN address.

Cannot start EFIT application

 Ensure that Java JRE or JDK 1.8 is installed:

(For Windows) Go to: Control Panel->Java->General->About…

(For OSX and Linux) Open terminal. Execute command: java -version.

 If java was not found or Java version is 7 or less, download and install Java JRE or JDK 1.8 (version 8) from
https://www.java.com/en/download/

Cannot see folders “Exam_Start” and “Exam_HandIn”

(For Windows) The default desktop path in your operating system is changed. Try to locate Exam_Start and
Exam_Handin folders in the default location: C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Desktop
