Both Raw and JPEG are formats that cameras can shoot in.

While, it is widely debated by

photographers as to what format is the best, they are both capable of different things.

Nevertheless, it appears that both images taken in JPEG and Raw will appear underexposed.

Obviously, the images that come from these formats can be edited.

A Raw file image format is a digitally unprocessed file. They are not supported by all

software programs. These files preserve the most amount of information about an image without

processing and compressing the image. However, Raw images have to be converted into JPEG,

in order to be printed and shared. JPEGS are the most popular format for photographers. They

are compressed, which cause a loss in information stored. However, they are easily opened by

most software programs, making them very convenient and perfect for beginners.
