Dear Judges, 

My name is Sarmila Rai. The topic i choice was Birth Control Pills. Problems and issues is that 
young girl in Nepali community don’t use birth control pills but instate they use abortion as a form 
of birth control pills.  

High school should offer contraceptives to students because it would reduce unwanted 
pregnancies, reduce sexually transmitted disease (STDs) and birth control help young people to 
plan their future. I learn that most young should use birth control pills if they get married in young 
age. In Nepali community young can’t use birth control pills and they may not gonna know about 
control pills from their family because Nepali mother feel shy to talk about birth control pills.   

When i was 13 years old my aunt has to abortion her unborn baby because she don’t want it and 
that time i didn’t know about birth control pills. In Nepali community, they don’t talk about birth 
control pills. I want to help young nepali girl by telling them benefits about pills and more others 
things. S.L.E i went to Greensboro, there i talk with young Nepali girl and tell them about benefits 
and how they can get birth control pills. They were nice to heard about birth control pills and 
benefits about pills.  

I have learn lot of things from my graduation project and topic that i choice. I learn that birth 
control pills is helpful for all young girl in the world. I solve my problem by telling them and how 
they can get it and use it. I was happy to know more about birth control pills.  

When i choose birth control pills, i really didn’t know about birth control pills but now i know lot 
of things and i can help other people by telling them too.
