qualifying GPA to attend college (possibly playing basketball while I’m there), and

continue onto graduate school to pursue my medical degree to becoming an orthopedic

surgeon. It is my desire to be a orthopedic surgeon because I enjoy learning new facts,

and skills about the human anatomy. Also knowing that I’ll be able to help save lives,

and or to change someone’s quality of life for the better is very rewarding. It excites me

to know that the knowledge that I’ll obtain in my studies will be able to enlighten others

to gain knowledge about the human anatomy.

There are many opportunities that have allowed me to already being the path to

accomplishing my goals. This summer I’ll be in my 4th year of volunteering with UNC

Health Care, where I’ve had the privilege of shadowing doctors, and sitting in on a

babies being born. I have also began taking classes at Rockingham County High to help

me to be successful in the future, because everyday the medical technology is always

changing and saving lives with its critical demands, reliability and accuracy. There is

healthcare field. Growing to be patient has allowed me to overcome challenging

situations which has helped me have the patience that are needed to be helpful towards

others. In the healthcare field you must have self-restraint, due to the fact you may

never know or completely understand what someone else is going through, and or the

pain that they may be in. By being patient and having empathy for others they will gain
