Grupo Modelo and Carlsberg Breweries to

Start Mutual Business Cooperation

Mexico City, Mexico and Copenhagen, Denmark - October 29, 2007.- Recently, Grupo Modelo and
Carlsberg Breweries A/S signed several contracts of business cooperation establishing that, effective
January 1st, 2008, Carlsberg will offer a selected Modelo brand portfolio to be sold along with the
Carlsberg product range in Italy, Switzerland, Malaysia and Singapore.

Through this collaboration, Grupo Modelo—which is the exclusive importer of Carlsberg beer in Mexico—
will gain access to a strong distribution network in Italy, Switzerland, Malaysia and Singapore, where
Carlsberg has a leading market position. Modelo’s brands will be included in the Carlsberg portfolio as a
super premium imported beers, which is consistent with their highest quality. Carlsberg intends to further
strengthen and develop this segment on an international level in the long term.

Grupo Modelo is the leading Mexican exporter, and it exports five brands, including its flagship Corona
Extra, and Negra Modelo and Modelo Especial, to more than 150 countries worldwide. Both Carlsberg
and Modelo are known as socially responsible companies with a strong foothold in their communities that
offer competitive jobs to thousands of people and, at the same time, strongly promote the responsible use
of their products, are committed to preserving the environment and comply with the best practices in
corporate responsibility.

Grupo Modelo
Grupo Modelo, founded in 1925, is the leader in Mexico in the production, distribution and marketing of
beer, with 63.2% of the total (domestic and export) market share, as of December 31, 2006. It has seven
brewing plants in the country, with a total annual installed capacity of 60 million hectoliters. Currently, it
brews and distributes 12 brands, including Corona Extra, the number one Mexican beer sold in the world,
Modelo Especial, Victoria, Pacífico and Negra Modelo. It exports five brands and is present in more than
150 countries. It is the importer of Anheuser-Busch’s products in Mexico, including Budweiser, Bud Light
and O’Doul’s. It also imports the Chinese Tsingtao brand and the Danish beer Carlsberg. Through a
strategic alliance with Nestlé Waters, it produces and distributes in Mexico bottled water brands Santa
María and Nestlé Pureza Vital, among others. Grupo Modelo trades in the Mexican Stock Exchange since

1994 with the ticker symbol GMODELOC. It also quotes as an ADR under the ticker GPMCY in the OTC
markets and in Latibex in Spain as XGMD.

Carlsberg trademark
Carlsberg Beer Premium Lager is a perfect treasure in the Carlsberg group’s trademark portfolio.
Carlsberg beer is brewed using only assorted raw materials and belongs amongst the most quality
premium lagers in the world. It is a global beer trademark, known in 140 countries. In the last two years, it
has been the fastest growing trademark in the world. Carlsberg trademark’s main philosophy and values
are clearly expressed in its slogan - “Probably the best beer in the world”.

Carlsberg Breweries A/S brewing group is the flagship of the Danish economy. It was founded on 10th
November 1847. These days, it belongs amongst five biggest players on the world market. In 2005,
Carlsberg’s sales exceeded 100 million hectolitres of beer and the turnover reached 38 million of Danish
