GoFundMe project raised $100 million to buy

ladders for Trump's wall

"Ladders to get over Trump's wall" is a project created by Charlotte Clymer

a member of the communications team for the Human Rights Campaign and
an army veteran. She started the project to protect human rights and
encourage people to come across the border for a better future.

The idea came as a response to another GoFundMe campaign initiated for

the purpose of raising money for Trump's wall. The project was created by
Brian Kolfage also an army veteran. "We the People Will Fund the Wall"
aims to raise $1 billion to found a part of the famous wall that USA
president, Donald Trump, promised to build as his election campaign.

After seeing the project Clymer said: : "I was really stunned when I heard of
the border wall GoFundMe." She also stated about her campaign: "This
GoFundMe isn’t really about ladders at all. It’s about lifting people up. You
see, they’ll never reach their goal, but no matter how much we raise, we’re
going to reach ours".

She wanted to show people across that wall that not all USA citizens agree
with the president and that there is still hope for Mexican immigrants in the
USA, as all the funds raised will be donated to the Refugee and Immigrant
Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), an organization that
helps immigrants who want to seek legal asylum. So far she managed to
raise over $100k and more and more people donate by the minute..
