2. Bury the iron wire in advance on the slate (when the height of the wall is 240 cm or below,
and the thickness of the slate is below 1.5 cm. Conduct grouting directly by skipping binding
the iron wire).
a. Stone plate equal to 1.2 cm or below in thickness can be stuck with 5 cm x 3 cm slate
on its back, and make a ruff in the bottom in advance to thread in the iron wire.
b. For stone plate equal to 1.9 cm or above, the edge of the slate can be punched
through vertically to thread in the iron wire.
3. From bottom up, fix stone plate to the wall with cement mortar.
a. When steel wire is to tie, tie the wire to the steel nail on the wall and adjust to
proper gap.
b. Cement mortar shall fill to the whole back side and the gap, till 3-4 cm to the tip. At
this point, to prevent the stone plate being pushed forward by the pressure of cement
mortar, the filling shall be in stages.
4. The gap between plates shall be about 1 mm, and shall be separated by gasket and installed
day by day.
6. The edge of stone material, corner & joining lines and surface shall be straight & flat.
7. Support shall be given to window, door and curved arch (if any), when necessary.
8. After installation of stone plate, the gap may be sealed only 48 hours after installation, then
seal with special sealer for stone material, or white cement with mineral pigment and
water.
9. After joint sealing, the surface of stone plate shall be wiped clean thoroughly.
1.2 Curing
1. Do not touch the wall with force before the mortar is dried after the installation, to avoid
damaging the finish.
2. When installing during cold weather and cement mortar is frozen or hardened, the
installation shall be stopped or shall apply curing measures, such as heat preserving.
2. Drilling: Drill holes to pre-determined depth for expansion screw at the locations for
stainless steel fixing pieces.
5. Install the stone plate with precut hanging groove onto the fixing pieces, and fill the groove
with epoxy resin to bond the fixing piece to the stone plate tightly to avoid shifting. The
fixing pieces shall also be totally sealed with epoxy resin to avoid corrosion due to exposure
to the atmosphere.
6. All edges, corners and joining lines and surfaces shall be straight and flat.
2.2 Curing
If other works are still going after installation of stone plates, the stone plate shall be protected
properly to avoid being knocked, scratched or contaminated
2. Use of Special Adhesives for laying of Natural & Engineered Marble is recommended.
3. Cement Mortar / Adhesive must be well blended for even distribution. Poorly blended
mortar / adhesive has poor structural strength and less bonding force, can collapse when
bearing heavy load, and damage the stone material above the mortar
2. In case of floor installation, spread cement paste on the paving surface for adhering, then
spread with clean cement leveling mortar (slightly wet to the extent of not seeping) /
adhesive about 3-5cm height from floor surface and adjust the height.
3. After adjusting the height, take off the Natural / Engineered Marble tile/slab and spread
cement paste / adhesive on the base mortar.
4. Install the Natural / Engineered Marble tile/slab and gently knock with rubber hammer to
bond closely to mortar and align with the joints of neighboring floor. The gap between stone
plates shall be 1.0-2.0 mm.
5. Only 48 hours after completing the installation can the joint be sealed, to allow the bottom
mortar / adhesive to dry normally and to allow the calcium oxide in the cement to isolate
out together with water and to keep the generation of efflorescence. When filling the joint,
wet floor cement / grout shall be used to seal the joint, then use dried floor cement to wipe
dry. The surface of the stone material shall be wiped clean.
3.3 Curing
1. When cement mortar / adhesive is frozen or hardened when installing during cold weather,
the installation operation shall be stopped or shall apply curing measure.
2. If other decoration is still underway while the Natural / Engineered Marble tile/slab work is
completed, plastic sheet or corrugated board shall be placed on top of the paved Natural /
Engineered Marble tile/slab surface, to keep it from damage.
3. After completing installation of floor Natural / Engineered Marble tile/slab, but before
cement mortar / adhesive hardens (at least 24 hours), do not walk on top floor.
Spot cleaning
Avoid frequent damp mopping. If there are stuck on grime and dirt, spot clean with neutral
detergent
